“There’s a wonderful old Italian joke about a poor man who goes to church every day and prays before the statue of a great saint, begging, “Dear saint—please, please, please…give me the grace to win the lottery.” This lament goes on for months. Finally the exasperated statue comes to life, looks down at the begging man and says in weary disgust, “My son—please, please, please – buy a ticket.”
I believe in chivalry. If you don’t have it you are not man enough in my eyes! But on the first date both of us should enjoy each other's company. A nice conversation is the key to avoid the ridiculous awkwardness of the first date. The magic word "chemistry" comes to mind. It's all about the feel-good factor, because (hopefully) you are not an amazing piece of dating machinery and I can guarantee that I'm not on the "date hunt" either-it's genuinely about making each other feel great and have fun at the same time.
