So here we are in 2014. Anyone else surprised there aren't any flying cars? It seems to me that we haven't quite reached the level of technology displayed in Back to the Future 2. I think that was supposed to be 2015, so maybe we'll have a great leap forward. Then again, Chairman Mao tried something similar, and it didn't work out so well. But I'm sure whatever world-beating gadget the boys in the lab come up with, the marketing geniuses will think of some snappy way to brand it.
But that's not my department. I'm in the history business. Now I know this site claims that women don't like to talk about history, but I can't deny who I am. I'm into a lot of other things, too, like reading, writing (Wait, I do a fair amount of that for work. But honestly, I wouldn't be in this racket if I couldn't at least tolerate hitting the books and picking up my pen.). I've also been known to draw on occasion. And you can usually catch me at the rec center four or five times a week. I'm a well-rounded gent (Perhaps I should rephrase that. A big reason for going to the gym is to keep from getting too well-rounded. I'm not exactly a Renaissance man. Polymath? Sure, that works.).
Since we've got a new year on our hands, I suppose I should add a bit about resolutions. I've only got one, but oh, it's a doozy! I'd like to meet someone--hopefully off this site, which is why I'm here--for friendship, at the very least, but if it becomes something more than that, I wouldn't turn it down.
Please feel free to send me a message, and we'll get the ball rolling.
