About Me
AS mentiond above I am interested in good food as I enjoy cooking, wine making (from thr grape)and competitive bird carving. I travel to carving competitions up and down the west coast throut the year. For entertainment I enjoy opera, live theatre, movies, reading, walking and I am an avid baseball fan(Vancouver Canadians, as well as the Bluejays)
I was widowed from my wife of 50 years, 5 years ago However I am searching for a soulmate,a long term permanent relationship,some more of the same happiness I've experience and take me to the end of my life.
I do not practise any organized religion, but I follow KARMA - do someting nice and nice things happen to you, do something rotten end well you know the rest.
I am a retired mining engineer and have 4 children all over 40. My 3 girls are happily married and my son is without at the moment. My 6 grandchildren are the apple of my eye.
I do a lot of different things to keep my life interesting, however, I’m not set in my ways and I’m open to all kinds of new ideas and experiences. I like to cook a variety of dishes from different cultures and as well enjoy eating out to experience new and good food, Italian, German and Chinese are my favourites Another one of my hobbies is making wine (Bordeaux Blend from California Red Grapes), a hobby I have studied for 50 years.
My passion is competitive decoy and bird carving and I travel up and down the west coast competing at various carving shows
I have worked all over the world and enjoy travelling. I am lucky to enjoy excellent health supported by doing a lot of walking with or without my dog Jack (a Moltipoo). I did a lot of prospecting in California, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska and BC and as a result enjoy the outdoor way of life, walking, and the wonders of nature etc.
Although I was born in Canada (Toronto), however, my heritage is Austrian/German and I’ve visited many times the Rhine Pfaltz, where my father emigrated from in 1928. It is just 20 minutes from the French border (Alsace Lorraine). The area was interesting as well as exciting, with good food ,drips with history and is a formidable wine region.
I have many friends on the Island in the Nanaimo area and my oldest daughter has a summer place on Sproat Lake near Port Alberni, which I am fortunate to be able to go to often.
For entertainment, I like live theatre, I’m an opera buff, like movies, like jazz, the classics TV, reading and I am an avid baseball fan (follow the Vancouver Canadians and the TO Blue Jays)
