About Me
Born on a Monday but very much a sleep-in Saturday type of guy, I like cold weather, whimsy, a scosche of seriousness, and just enough child-like wonder to make life interesting. If it is nerdy or geeky or dorky, I have probably dabbled in it. Then again, I love history, aeronautics, politics, and comparative religions too. Give me a good mythological study and you have my attention. Want to debate the finer points of time travel, energy production, or the latest episode of a Crime Drama and you’ll have my unending joy. Honor and the Golden Rule are my guide posts for life, then again that only makes sense coming from an Eagle Scout. I dance, for the most part, when no one can see it and I sing when the mood strikes me. Neither shows much promise but I love it all the same. Believing that everyone should know how to cook more than ramen noodles and instant coffee, I follow this by cooking meals both simple and grand from scratch and a smile.
When it comes to personal religion, things get a little complicated. Raised Christian, but not overly so, left due to hypocrisy, fell in love with the polytheistic religions of the ancient world, and a staunch believer in science, I am now in a place where I have a firm handle on my personal slice on the universe. If the God of Abraham, Jesus, and Mohammed is real what is to say the gods of the Romans, the Greeks, the Norse, or the Japanese aren’t? So, why not toss it all into the air, treat each other like the people we are, and learn about one another? God or the Gods will take care of themselves, it’s people we have to live with. At least, that’s how I walk through it all.
As a writer, or at least someone who wishes to be called that, the inside is my home, the keyboard and pencil my most valuable tools. Whole new worlds and universes thread themselves together in my mind just begging to be committed to paper and birthed into our world. That being said, I know writing doesn’t pay the bills, at least not right now, so I spend most of my time working at the Library. There I help the most needy of people gain possession of the common technological threads that bind us all so they are not left sputtering in an increasingly unfriendly past. There are few things in this world more amazing than watching understanding blossom on another’s face and knowing that it is you who helped them get there. I cannot say enough about it and encourage you all to try it.
Enough about me though, what about you? What kind of person might I be interested in? Sweet and tender, yet with an unquenchable fire in their soul, that’s what I’m looking for. A partner in crime, someone who will stand at my side shaking their head at my antics only to jump on in and join them. Someone who will walk through the world with a smile yet can bend it to their will when the need arises. I would like to have children, so there’s that. And liking at least a few of the same things as I is a definite must.

First Date
I was raised with the basic package for dates, dinner and a movie. Probably not the best idea though. I wouldn't mind going to a bowling alley. Just a walk around the mall can be fun if you have good company and some great conversation.
