About Me
In short, I'm kind of a big deal, people know me. I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany....Clearly someone everyone should meet.
In all seriousness though, I'm amazing. I read a lot, I race triathlons, and I'm hilarious: what's not to like?
If my blatant sarcasm hasn't scared you off yet, then I can only conclude you're sticking around for my phenomenally good looks. Perhaps we'll be talking soon?
I'm a former police officer who took a break from pursuing my M.A. to serve in the Army. Just got assigned to Bragg!
I’m really good at making fun of drunk people...and everyone else.
The first things people usually notice about me are my 27" biceps and facial tats. If you're lucky I'll take a picture in my bathroom mirror for you. Sans shirt, of course.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how absolutely incredible I am. Seriously, it blows my mind.
Also, how I totally wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have an admitted obsession with books...trying to move all of them is becoming problematic. Favorites include Atlas Shrugged, anything written by Aristotle, the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn, The Alchemist, Ishmael, The Pentagon's New Map, anything by Tom Clancy, The House of Leaves (It'll drive you crazy but phenomenal addition to the post-modern/horror genre, though in general I loathe post-modern literature)...and because I'm a nerd at heart I love fiction and non-fiction works dealing with science.
Movies are another far too broad category...The Departed, Blackhawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Anchorman (Obviously), The Hangover, 40 Year Old Virgin, Lucky Number Slevin, Smoking Aces, the Alien series, pretty much anything with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood...the list could go on and on, but there's a representative selection!
Don't watch too much TV right now, but 24, The West Wing, How I Met Your Mother (Though I find myself getting more and more annoyed...just tell us who she is already!), NCIS, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, Two and a Half Men...and as much as it pains me to admit, Angel and Firefly (Joss Whedon really is a genius).
The six things I could never do without
Disregarding the lowest level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs:
1. Faith
2. Family
3. Friends
4. My dog (Missing her terribly right now)
5. Books
6. Crossfit
And for good measure,
7. A sense of purpose
On a typical Friday night I am:
What can I say, I'm easy....but typically, the same thing I do every night — try to take over the world
The most private thing I’m willing to admit is that I'm attempting to teach my dog sign language. Sadly, she's German and keeps making very inappropriate paw gestures.
Also, deep down I'm just a nice guy...very deep down. Much closer to the surface is a jerk and above that, an ***hole. There may be a raccoon thrown in there too, so be careful. ;)
Lastly, I have a completely (well, mostly) non-sexual man crush on Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
