I moved to Manchester from San Diego about 1.5 years ago. I used to avoid leaving the house without my sunglasses; now I pack them and an umbrella. Does that make me an official Mancunian? If not, I've also learned that the phrase is "taking the piss", not "taking a piss". To confuse the two gets you funny looks. Also, pies are not dessert here. Black pudding is not a dessert either (gross).
I try to live a balanced life. I'm equally happy out in City Centre, having a nice dinner in Didsbury or cuddling with my dogs (and/or the right guy) on the couch. Health and nutrition is very important to me. I try to eat healthy food and work out on a regular basis. I'm not extreme about it, though. I enjoy desert, cheese and alcohol so I will never be a size 4...life is too short to be bothered.
Since I'm a teacher, I have a quick quiz for you:
1) If I challenged you to a dance off (either in my living room or in a public bar) would you accept?
2) Do you enjoy dressing up and going out as much as you enjoy staying in?
3) Can you be more creative when you message me than "I like your profile and you have a nice smile"?
4) You know what a homophone is and how to use one correctly in a sentence.
If you answered yes to all of the above, A* for you! I hope to hear from you soon.
