I moved to Manchester from San Diego in August. I am contracted to stay until August 2016, and am hoping to convince them to let me stay on after that.
I am slowly adjusting to the UK lifestyle. Here are some important lessons I've learned:
1) I have a "right cool" accent, at least according to the students I'm working with.
2) I should never wear red or blue to a pub during a football match because I'm sure to offend someone.
3) Public transportation allows you to see the worst and best of humanity...always wash hands thoroughly after use.
I try to live a balanced life. I'm equally happy dancing and drinking in City Centre, having a nice dinner out in Didsbury or cuddling with my dogs (and/or the right guy) on the couch. Health and nutrition is very important to me. I try to eat healthy food and work out on a regular basis. I'm not extreme about it, though. I enjoy desert, cheese and alcohol so I will never be a size 4...life is too short to be bothered.
I have just a few tips to know before messaging. First, if you want to meet me let's e-mail a few times and then meet. Spending week after week sending messages is a waste. Second, I am not the type of girl to fall in love just because you call me "beautiful, sweetheart, etc." I find it generic. Get to know me and offer sincere complements from the heart; I promise to do the same for you.
If you're still reading, excellent! I hope to hear from you soon!
