Tami & Steve
We found Extreme Happiness!
In the bleak cold winter of 2011 in Chicagoland, we first talked via messages thru the POF site. Both of us had dated others thru the POF site but something always seemed to be missing. We often talked on the phone and soon agreed to meet for dinner on one condition, neither of us was allowed to "go to the bathroom" with our coat (intending to slip out of the restraunt). So before we met we knew we had a similar sense of humor (We are thankful that POF's tools could match our sense of humor amoung other things.). When we met for dinner, Steve was waiting outside the restaurant, we exchange the uncomfortable intro hug and he let me know he already picked out a table. When I walked to the table as he directed me, there were flowers waiting there for me! (can you say POINTS?!?!) Over the next several weeks and months, We really enjoyed talking and spending time together, eating out, eating in, watching movies or playing games. One problem was that I had planned to move south for warmer weather in the fall. We decided to just enjoy each others companionship until then, but later Steve told me that he did not believe that I intended to move. As the end of summer approached we were rarely apart and thinking of moving away was very difficult. Steve lost his job and was having a difficult time finding a new one in the Chicagland area. Using that as an opportunity, I suggested that he move south with me. What did he have to lose?!?! After some struggles and many conversations we agreed to leave our families and friends to move across the country together! This was when I fell in love with him! So 9 months and 1 day from that first date with the flowers on the table, we packed up everything we owned and drove 1300 miles to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Together we were learning a new city and unfamiliar area, learning jobs in the oil industry that we knew very little about, we also were learning more about each other. We lived together for about 7 months when Steve suggested we go out on a "Nice Date", you know, get all dressed up and have a fancy meal. Unknown to me, Steve had visited the restaurant earlier that day and picked the table we would dine at secluded and quite a romantic setting, Just after we ate our dinner, He got up from the table and I thought was coming over to give me a kiss, but instead he got down on one knee and told me he wants me to be the last person he sees each night and the first person he sees every morning, so would I do him the favor of marrying him? Ofcourse I said "Yes"! We want to get married back in Illinois with our families close so we are planning a June 2014 wedding! Everyday we know we have found the love that was missing in our lives as well as extreme happiness thanks to POF!
