Adam & Candance
Happily ever after ...
Well I have to say .... there were many fishes that had to be thrown back. But with a little persistance and some really dumb luck I've found the golden fish that answered my every wish. From the moment I saw her on the warm July day I knew that there was just something special about the smile on her face. It started with an email here and there. Then a call or two. And finally she got the nerve to actually meet. I guess I made a good impression. The first date was Cleveland Indians baseball game. She picked me up, because the a/c in my 1985 mustang was not going to cut it lol, but mostly because it gave her a sense of control. Meeting someone for the first time was pretty nerve racking for her, so much in fact she actually had plenty of friends texting her the entire time making sure she was ok. It was pretty cute. From day one we both knew that this new found relationship was only going to grow and as the months went on it did just that. By November I had met her parents who flew out from Texas to be with us on Thanksgiving. One of the biggest hurdles in my opinion is winning over the In-Laws. Well that was cake! They were incredibly welcoming and easy to get along with. By the next month i'm well convinced that this is the woman I would love to live the rest of my life with. My Grandfather and I head to the jewelry store to pick out the ring but low and behold they were sold out of the one I was looking for. Well if they don't have it, let's make it. I decided to ask to look at a couple diamonds and I would pick one out and have them make it. But when the clerk returned he said, "I found this in the back." He handed me a white gold ring with a solitary diamond .... just the one I was looking for. "I'll take it!!". A few days later and after calling her parents to ask for their blessings it was time to pop the question. We had a running joke between us that even if I gave her a "cracker jack" ring she would still say yes so I decided to put her to the test. I went to at least 5 grocery stores looking for toy rings in gumball machines and finally find one. She worked late that evening and within minutes of Christmas eve I asked her if she would marry me holding out the fake ring. After she said yes, I got down on one knee and pulled the little black box out of my pocket. I stretched out my arms and in her excitement she attempted to open the box before I could even ask her. I opened the box and to her surprise it was indeed a REAL ring and this was actually happening!! Of course she said yes and we were married on August 08, 2008 a little over one year after our first date. We are currently living in Dallas, TX and have two wonderful children. Everyday is the best day of my life. Thank you POF ... without you this would have never happened.
