It was love at first "advanced search" so to speak-well maybe not love right away. While spending time with her parents in Granbury, Katie heard about a website called Plenty of Fish. After returning to San Antonio, she decided to check it out. It was a free dating website. Katie felt she had nothing to lose and quickly created a profile. After about a week of duds, Katie decided to do a search on her own. Brandon happened to be one of the fellows who fit all of the criteria that she checked off in her advanced search. Something about his sly smile in his profile picture caught Katie's eye so she clicked on it. After laughing at the myriad of clever comments that Brandon had sprinkled throughout his profile, Katie sent him a message. The two emailed back and forth several times before meeting in person about a week later. Their first date was a costume party on October 30, 2009. She was a pirate and he was a jester. The pair hit it off like they'd known each other for years. On August 6, 2010, Brandon asked Katie to marry him while on vacation in St. Maarten. The two will wed in February 2011!
