About Me
Hello, I'm Louise… Since you are a captive audience, let’s all learn about ME! :P
I am an optimistic type, full of excitement and curiosity about life. But I’m also a grumpy madam first thing in the morning, can be a bit insomniac, and have a shaky grasp on the concept of punctuality. Swings and roundabouts ;) I can be very lively, excitable and enthusiastic (even giddy!) about all kinds of surprising stuff, but then will be very calm and pensive a moment later. This seems to amuse my closest friends who tell me it’s endearing, and that I need to describe myself as “eccentric in a good way”.
I'm endlessly curious about stuff in general, hence my job. I'm as happy learning about the history of costume as submarine warfare or classifications of insects. So someone with a passion for just about any topic intrigues me! I really like independent thinkers; people who question why things are as they are, and who aren't afraid to get into juicy discussions of ethics or disagree with the majority. I am full of opinions, but am open to new ideas or other people’s views. I am full of interesting facts too, which I love sharing with similar geeky types.
I have a slightly surreal and silly sense of humour, and having a giggle at life on a regular basis is important to my sanity :P I like to be around warm, funny people and I love watching stand up comedy. Meeting someone I can regularly have silly episodes with is an important part of my romantic ideal ;-)
I am a fiercely loyal friend, and spending time with my friends is very important to me. Some might describe me as sentimental about friendship, but I don’t see it that way. I think modern society hangs everything on marriage and pair-bonding, and undermines the importance of friendship. I think friendship is precious, and any meaningful relationship has friendship at its core. I especially like quirky people as they are usually interesting, and I love my friends for all their quirks. I think it’s wrong to try and change someone to fit an ideal; love is appreciating someone as you find them!
My job involves teaching, which I love, but it does sometimes leave me with people fatigue, so I make sure I have time alone to think and rest. I’m looking for someone who also feels it’s unhealthy to live in each other's pockets, and that quality not quantity is important. I spend a few hours each week in dance classes because dancing is a wonderful escape from anything that stresses me, and I’m passionate about how beautiful it is, and how much I want to keep improving. I’ve been learning bellydance for about 2 years; as a result, I have a wonderfully tight tummy and a***. Bonus! ;) If you’re curious about the style of dance, you tube “tribal fusion bellydance”.
So what kind of guy am I looking for?
Found that a bit tricky to answer at first as I don't have a particular "model" in mind :P Definitely a gentleman type though; someone who treats people with kindess and consideration, and has strong values about treating other people with respect. Someone who likes sharing little adventures in life, like trying exotic food together, or visiting new places, is a must; buttoned-down, narrow-minded types aren't for me! I'm a very affectionate person, so am looking for a guy who enjoys attention, and who will enjoy making me feel special too. I love walking in the Peaks and would love to find friends who also enjoy the challenge of a long walk! I’m open to meeting up for friendship or dating; either would be fun :)
