About Me
Hmm... The flippant absurd humour profile did not work. Must not come across well on a computer. Or maybe I just think I am funnier than I am - A legend in my own mind :-)
So I'll try more serious and down to earth this time...
Just like a good novel, a good profile needs a catchy start to hook you in. Let’s see…
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…
Dang, it was a confusing time...
Hardly even started and I am already breaking my “serious” rule. Though it is actually serious and true – the best of times and the worst of times often come together. Inside pain can be enormous joy. The beauty of the highs are often measured by the depth of the lows.
So, why should you drop me a line? First off, I'm basically a good guy – I know how to treat a woman well. I'm honest and I don't cheat. I am never physically abusive. I can cuss with the best when I am angry or hurt - yet I don't hold a grudge. I know how to listen and be supportive. I can communicate. In fact I know I have at least one trait that puts me well ahead of a lot of other guys out there – I know how to pay attention to the person I am with.
I know I am also pretty good with physical intimacy too. My bad knee and a bit of a pot belly may keep me from doing a triple spin back flip and tuck in the sack these days. But I am confident about how I stack up - in part for the same reason as the rest of a relationship – I know how to pay attention. I pay attention to a woman's needs and dance together with her energy.
All of life is a dance. In dancing one needs to feel what a partner is doing – anticipate where the partner wants to go next. Feel the energy flows, move with that energy and join it. A relationship is that sort of a dance – whether simply talking over dinner, cuddling on the couch while watching a movie or all the other dances between two people.
Am I saying I'm perfect and don't have any baggage? Absolutely not. Any person who is interesting has had both bad times and good. That is what makes interesting people. I sure know the 2-1/2 years I spent care giving my wife with both cancer and MS then the next couple of years after she died sure as heck screwed me up. That will always be a part of me along with so much else I have experienced. On the flip side I am moving ahead and hoping you will be part of my continued growth.
So who are you? I know you are smart, creative, funny and beautiful. Though I also know it is dangerous to say that right up front – it may keep some of you smart, creative, funny and beautiful women from dropping me a line because you don't believe some of those things. I am still amazed how many people think they are not beautiful because they do not look like the newest supermodel or Barby doll, feel they are not creative because they were told they could not draw a tree in the second grade, are not smart because they did not do well on some test sometime in the past.
Well, believe me – even though I do not know you yet, I know you are all those things. Perhaps that is another thing I can do for you in a relationship – Remind you you are smart, creative, funny and beautiful... and so much more.
If you think we might be able to explore each other’s imperfections together and laugh along the way, please drop me a line. We’ll never know if we don’t give it a try.

First Date
I am flexible for a first date. It is not the details of what one is doing but how one pays attention to the moment and the person one is with. I am a very good cook so if you feel safe trapped in a kitchen with me, I'd love to cook you dinner.
