About Me
Disclaimer: IF you just write "HI" and don't say anything else you will NOT hear from me.
I am a free thinking woman with a desire to connect with another mind. I am very passionate however find the brain the sexiest organ of them all. It seems perhaps a bit false, but in my case it is true. I am an avid collector of books, films.
Movies I love: Full Metal Jacket, The Cook, The Thief, his Wife and her Lover (Greenaway), Cobra Verde (Herzog), Adaptation, Percepolis, Titus, Underground, You, Me and Everyone We Know, Badlands, a Clockwork Orange, weakness for the Lord of the Rings movies, Bladerunner. Lars and the real girl, Good Fellas, Casino, big Woody Allen fan, Herzog too. Apocalypse Now, Mean Streets, Papillion, also love Brit Crime stuff. (IE Cracker, Prime Suspect)
Old Reading: The Idiot Dostoevsky,Pilgrim Timothy Findley, Perfume, Patrick Suskind. Solomon Gursky was Here Mordecai Richler, The Penultimate Truth Philip K****
Relatively Recently Read: "Barney's Version" Mordecai Richler, "The People's Act of Love" James Meek, "Every Man Dies Alone" Hans Fallada, "The Russian Debutante's Handbook" Gary Shtenygart, "Valis" Philip K**** "Brideshead Revisited" Evelyn Waugh, Re-Read "Lolita" Vladimir Nabokov
Just Read/reading: Selected Essays by Phillip Lopate "Portrait of My Body", Selected essays from anthology "The Art of the Personal Essay", "Typee" Herman Melvillle
Books I love: Lolita, White Teeth, the Impressionist, Midnight's Children, Moby****
Music: Stereolab, Guided by Voices, Iggy Pop and The stooges, Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen, Joy Division, Magnetic Fields, Joanna Newsom, The Clash, the Pixies, Edith Piaf, the Greenhornes, Holly Golightly.
Current stuff: Not a TV person, I am a bit odd a crafty gal, I love to listen to stories or lectures whilst I work away. I have been listening to Moby**** which I've read, but is really a great book. Also into Charles****ns, amazing novelist, enjoying the adventures of David Copperfield as of late. I also love Jane Austen.
I am currently reinventing myself. I have moved, sold my home, am looking to be a happier creative person. I volunteer quite a bit and am all for building/supporting cultural outlets. Arts are very important to me, whether it be a show at the AGO, a performance piece, or a small embellishment. I don't love everything I see/hear but I value creativity and a culture that promotes a dialogue. I also love science, history and many things I don't fully understand. Life is short, learn and think.
Interested in many facets of life, not in acquisitions and wealth. I am human and like to fulfill my desires but they are thankfully modest and attainable. I am not a fussy barbie girl and will never play dumb. I not convinced I "NEED" a man in my life am happy solo, but would appreciate and enjoy a companion who enjoys me as I enjoy them.
I look for a playmate who challenges me and who I can challenge in return. This sounds really scary? It's the utmost fun.
