About Me
Here are some things I would highlight about myself:
-I don't think its possible to do justice to a person in a short write-up unless you're a really talented writer
-I have a job that I find interesting and that I'm good at; however, it has led me to write in bullets
-I'm a live downtown and walk and cycle around sort of fellow and not a live in the suburbs and drive a car fellow
-I'm a bit of a nerd, although that term is probably better applied to high-school students I suppose: I enjoy reading good newspapers and magazines; I'm always in the process of reading a few books
-I have a wide range of musical interests, but my current passions are opera, classical music, and what I'd categorize as "alt country" and "alt pop"
-I'm pretty spontaneous / unscripted when it comes to my life after work - I'm not a "joiner" and I cherish having loads of unstructured free time
-I don't watch much TV, and when I do its usually high-quality series on DVDs (e.g. the Wire, 6 feet under, West Wing, Sopranos)
-I like foreign films
-I like hanging out in pubs
-I find watching professional sports to generally be a waste of time, but I do enjoy watching particular special sporting events
-I'm moderately active, and my most frequent activities are cycling and yoga
-I'd like to get better at tennis (I'm currently quite bad)
-I'd like to try some camping this summer
-I enjoy learning new things and taking on challenges
-I'm "progressive" / left in my political persuasions, but not doctrinaire
-My parents came to Canada from Ireland
-Perhaps partially as a result of the above, I'm not terribly Canadian in some respects - I don't talk about renovations, spend a lot of time gardening, or get overly excited by hockey
