I'm Tam. Life is busy these days. And also rather awesome. Last year I was teaching and now I work at a youth drop-in centre, do media for a politician and write for a newspaper. Yup, 3 jobs. And now I do consulting and ivnestigations too. I fill the few gaps that leaves with lots of projects, hanging out with friends and being stressed. And playing with my dog.
I write a lot. I love music, movies and reading. I volunteer lots and usually have a bazillion things on the go. Concerts are awesome and they're better when they're small. I like checking out festivals, events and restaurants. I'm teaching myself how to cook. I have a lot of friends (god knows why) and spend as much time with them as possible.
I do a lot of work with queer youth. I've planned a camping trip for LGBTQA teens two years in a row and spent another five years working with a second queer youth camp and this year helped make it work in another province. I do a lot of interviews and sometimes record shows. I help friends with promoting/planning/hosting events. I've been dedicating time to politics and helping to organize demonstrations. I'm just fumbling my way through life, learning how to do new things as I go.
I'm analytical and logical, compassionate and blunt. People seem to think I'm funny. I'm intense on occasion and silly often. I think real wisdom is knowing your flaws and limitations. I'm a planner but I'm disorganized. I know a little about a lot of things but not a lot about many. I'm agnostic. I'm frustratingly indesicive. Don't leave me with a menu, for reals.
I'm not nearly as serious as I come off sometimes. I can be outgoing or introverted. I'm a bit of a goof and I kid and tease and make a lot of inappropriate jokes. I'm a huge dork and I'm alright with that.
Commercials, bad movies can make me cry. My guilty pleasures are movies like Bring It On or She's The Man. It apparently surprises people that I enjoy Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Sex and the City, The House Bunny, etc. I may even watch terrible reality shows sometimes. And since I'm a dyke, I love Tegan and Sara.
I've found myself travelling around on occasion lately. It's been awesome, I've met incredible people and gained so much knowledge, seen so many sights. There's so much out there to learn about.
I'm open to new friends and dating. I don't do random sex. Or couples. Or cybering. No thank you.

First Date
I like a lot of different kinds of things. A concert, museum, sporting event, festival, art gallery, bowling, a play, movie, arcade, picnic, Galaxyland, craft making of some sort, bowling, going on a random road trip, laser tag, lectures/talks at the university, any random new experience. I’m not a big fan of the initial coffee date. I think that puts a lot of pressure on both parties to create small talk and try to hit it off immediately.
Honestly if the meeting involves a connection, shared interests, conversation flowing easily and attraction, I'm there. It doesn't really matter what we’re doing. With the right company, I'm easy to please. And sometimes things going terrible wrong and lots of awkwardness, that’s fun too. I'm not looking for perfect.
