This is me...
I am looking for something long term that will likely start with dating. I have met some fantastic women in my life & probably could have settled, but am still looking for the right one. I know I am not perfect & am not looking for a perfect woman, just the perfect woman for me! I really would love to be OFF POF & to actually be looking AT her & no longer looking FOR her!
I have found that I am not really interested in sending a lot of e-mails back & forth. Of course we need to have some conversation & find out some things about each other. There is the chemistry thing that I believe needs to be present & that can only be discovered in person. I think that it is better to see if both are interested & then a casual meet to see if there is any connection. I don't believe that I could truly fall in love with someone just through e-mails or over the phone.
I am kind of unique; I am single & have never been married. I have been in a couple serious relationships, some of which ended with my heart being broken. I guess I have broken a couple hearts too. I don't have any kids & not much experience with them either although I am open to getting to know someone who does have kids.
In my life I have NOT been in a relationship more than I HAVE been in a relationship. I think, partially, because of that, I do really cherish time spent with a woman (I always have). I believe that it is very precious when someone wants to spend moments of their life with me. I recently saw this on a profile & also truly believe that relationships are 100/100 not 50/50!
I don't do drugs & do not smoke up. I would not be interested in a partner who does either. I usually try to eat healthy & organic foods as much as possible. I am NOT a vegetarian, but am fine if my partner is. When I do enjoy meat I try for organic & also free range when possible. On the other hand, I also believe that sweets are one of the major food groups (organic chocolate is healthy right?).
I try to have fun & joke around as much as possible, but I am also serious when necessary & listen with interest (not just wait for my turn to talk). I have been told that I am a great listener & people feel comfortable talking with me. You will find that you feel you can tell me anything. I have also been told that I am a pretty easy going guy. I am usually calm, cool & collected & it does take a lot to get me rattled. I will however stand up for myself & others if I believe something is wrong.
I work mostly outside all year. I do enjoy fresh air & activities outside for fun too. I like to casually walk & bike, nothing hardcore. Sorry, I am not into hunting, fishing or camping really. Staying in shape together though would be something that I would really enjoy with my partner.
To say I have a huge interest & knowledge in music is an understatement. My taste can range between New Rock, Classic Rock, Popular Music, Jazz, New Age & more. I like the classics & also enjoy hearing & discovering new music & even dancing. Music is usually playing at my house, not much Country, Rap, or Teen Pop though. I took 7 years of piano, but now all I can play is a great CD.
I don't own (& never have) a Playstation or X-Box! In fact, I don't play video games of any kind! I would much rather include my special lady in my life & enjoy talking or possibly snuggled up watching a movie if the TV is on. Other things I could be checking out would be Discovery Channel, A&E, Showcase, TLC & Speed Channel. Pretty well never a Hockey, Football or Baseball game (the occasional Superbowl, Grey Cup or Stanley Cup Final, MAYBE!). I am just not a sports kind of guy (except for Drag Racing...weird huh?).
I believe it is proper to open the car door for a woman first. It is even better if she then reaches over & opens my door. I think that having fun & joking around is just as important as having an intelligent conversation. I have a deep voice that can growl in your ear, but I also know when to shut up & listen too. I have a big smile that you will see often & sometimes even a mischievous grin too.

First Date
Going some where for a hot or cold beverage is a great start to get to know more about each other. Walking & talking can be awesome as well. I have lived in The Comox Valley for over 6 years since moving from Alberta & being near the ocean is still very cool for me. I drove back to Alberta this summer & missed being close to the coast. Every time I drive past the ocean & the tide is out I think how great it could be to go for a walk on the sand with someone.
For a second date, the Blackfin Pub is a favorite of mine for dinner. Bon fires at Goose Spit are great! I would also like to get over to Denman & Hornby Islands again. It is also cool to go to Benino's in Comox for a gelato cone anytime.
Anything else we can come up with together is great. There is so much of The Valley & Vancouver Island that I would like to get to know more about. It just seems to mean more when it is shared with someone special! It is not so much where we are or what we are doing; it is who we are with that is important!
