Over the three score and 14 hump and picking up speed to the next Big One! I am still kicking around in decent health and intend to enjoy the rest of the journey.
I grew up in Waimanalo & Kailua but have spent the majority of my adult life in California & Washington states, while my Ohana stayed here in Oahu. In 2011 I started "snow birding" to the Ohana from Wa. and am now looking into "permanently" renewing my life here.
I am somewhat of an odd ball in the "consumer society" of today.. I embrace low technology (sometimes collect antique hand tools),do not use "social media", but am computer savy, have been in solar energy (power & heating) from the 70's, homesteaded for over 10 years, revel in organic gardens. I purchase most of my food these days at Oahu's numerous Farmer's Markets and have no intention of using an auto but for "emergency occasions". . .The Bus and a bright orange moped get me about on Oahu - rental cars when I visit family on the Big Island.
I retired some years ago from that big airplane company in Wa. state but now call myself a fine art photographer, if you want to label me. I use "old school" cameras with REAL FILM !, which is scanned & printed digitally. . . do have a few digi cameras for color work and my daily greeting of the Sun on Waimanalo Beach. . . I call it my "Dawn Patrol". Fresh, strong coffee and a fantastic sunrise never fails to kick start my day! If Waimanalo had sunsets, I would say Aloha with a fine brew or excellent wine.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
I would like to meet the woman without a long list of "he should...s", because I do not have a long list of "she should. . s." At our ages we either have baggage or have chucked it overboard to let the boat sail smoother. I prefer fast sailing.
I do have a "short list" thou - No Tabaco: I quit that stuff 30+ years ago and am now highly allergic to it. I am tolerate of 420 and do use it medically at times.
Religious or dogmatic agendas: I am an agnostic (more labels) but accept & enjoy world cultural and spiritual practices. We are of the same DNA history.
These two are my only deal breakers.
OK, that's the brief snipet of my life.... questions will be answered if you ask.
