This is always fun, trying to describe yourself to people you have never met.
I guess you could say that I'm a country boy that grew out of the country. I grew up on a ranch in Northern California and moved to the Bay Area to go to school and eventually work. I sometimes miss the open [[country]], but I happily traded it for the [[culture]] of the Bay Area. I've lived in the Bay Area for the last six years.
I like to [[bike]] on weekends and when I can find the daylight, on week days. I work on machines that make computer chips for a living and enjoy my job. I like to [[take pictures]], nature mostly but occasionally portraits on request. I'm a [[geek]] at heart, and get the vast majority of my news through the internet. I'm the only person I know that can build a computer from components and ride a horse(not at the same time).
I value substance over appearance any day. This doesn't mean that I don't appreciate beauty. I would just rather have a fascinating conversation with a Leper than sit next to a mentally bankrupt supermodel and discuss the weather.
I've got my sh*ttogether. I was able to put myself through college and I've lived the last 6 years with no financial help from my parents (ok they paid my insurance and cell phone the first couple years of college so they could call me). Overall I've been able to create the life that I want, starting out with very little. This sometimes makes me unsympathetic to people that think the world owes them a favor.
I definitely lean towards the left when it comes to politics. Sometimes people find this surprising considering where I grew up.
When it rains you'll find me with a [[book]] next to a window in a [[coffee]] shop. I love to read and I've been into [[quotes]] since I could pick up a book, here are a few I've always liked.
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are****ure and the intelligent are full of doubt. - Bertrand Russel
Every now and then say, "What the ****." "What the ****" gives you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity. Opportunity makes your future. - Tom Cruise in Risky business, before he went bat sh*tcrazy
One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching. --Unknown
Here are a couple of [[web comics]] that I follow.
