As the headline says, I'm refreshingly eccentric. I'd rather climb a mountain than go dancing. I go to live theatre instead of movies. Why eat at some predictably bland chain restaurant when we could go somewhere we can't pronounce a single item on the menu? I take my own bags to stores to avoid the wastefulness of getting new ones with each purchase - and I don't mind that the cashiers seem to think I'm weird.
If I disagree with someone, I care enough to debate the issue (that's "debate", not "argue" - I try to be as civilized as possible). If I like someone, there's almost nothing I won't do for him or her.
I like to laugh, I'm honest, people usually feel relaxed around me, I'm a good listener, and I can hold a conversation until sunrise.
Ideally, I'm looking for a long-term relationship (aren't we all, if we find the right person?), but I'm taking a step back from that, for now, and looking to meet some new friends. Don't worry, when I say "friends", I mean the sort who keep their clothes on.
In a friend, I'd like someone who's energetic, funny, relaxed, thoughtful; who's into things other than getting wasted; and who wants to do things more interesting than checking out the latest piece of formulaic trash from Hollywood. Anything we have in common beyond that is a bonus.
When the time's right for a relationship, I want someone who's passionate. Not in the sense of being lustful (actually, yeah, that too), but about life. About living, thinking, understanding, herself, peace, justice, the environment, fun, fresh air, laughing, and me. Someone with enough drive to want new challenges and adventures, yet easy-going enough to enjoy whatever comes along. Someone trusting enough to want support when she's down, but strong enough to not need it.
Every time I try to think about an ideal first date, I'm overwhelmed by the number of good choices. It depends on the person and the mood and the only thing that matters is having fun.
Maybe you'd like to climb a mountain and talk about the universe. Or we could grab slurpees and take a tour of the city's most interesting architecture. How about a game of bocce and reading in the park under a tree? If you feel like getting dressed up, we could go for a nice dinner and a play. I'm not a bar person, but I've been known to enjoy a drink on a patio when it's too hot for much else (a non-alcoholic drink for me, but I'll get you whatever you like). Would you be adventurous enough to eat at the strangest restaurant we can find, then go to some subtitled foreign movie?
So many choices, so little time. Hurry up and email me already so we can get started!
