I think it's fair to say I'm refreshingly eccentric. I'd rather climb a mountain than go dancing. I go to live theatre instead of movies. Why eat at some predictable chain restaurant when we could go somewhere we can't pronounce a single item on the menu?
If I disagree with someone, I care enough to debate the issue (that's "debate", not "argue" - I try to be as civilized as possible). If I like someone, there's almost nothing I won't do for him or her.
I like to laugh, I'm honest, people usually feel relaxed around me, I'm a good listener, and I can hold a conversation until sunrise.
Ideally, I'm looking for a long-term relationship (aren't we all, if we find the right person?), but I'm happy to make friends, share an adventure, or end up with bizarre stories of horrible dates to laugh about later.
In anyone - a friend or a partner - I'd like someone who's energetic, funny, relaxed, thoughtful, and active. Someone with enough motivation to have direction in her life, yet still able to enjoy an occasional day of doing nothing.
In a relationship, I want someone who's passionate. Not in the sense of being lustful (actually, yeah, that too), but about life. About living, thinking, understanding, herself, social issues, the environment, fun, fresh air, laughing, and me. Someone trusting enough to want support when she's down, but strong enough to not need it.
Every time I try to think about an ideal first date, I'm overwhelmed by the number of good choices. It depends on the person and the mood and the only thing that matters is having fun.
Maybe you'd like to climb a mountain and talk about the universe. Or we could get ice cream and take a tour of the city's most interesting architecture. How about a game of bocce and reading in the park under a tree? If you feel like getting dressed up, we could go for a nice dinner and a play. I'm not a bar person, but I've been known to enjoy a drink on a patio when it's too hot for much else (a non-alcoholic drink for me, you have whatever you like). Would you be adventurous enough to eat at the strangest restaurant we can find, then go to some subtitled foreign movie?
So many choices, so little time. Hurry up and email me already so we can get started!
