About Me
I'm an average to tall, dark-blond haired, heavily bearded divorced man. I wear glasses, tend to dress casually, and have interests in things like mathematics, science, and programming. I also enjoy singing; it is a great pleasure of mine to be able to make music with someone. I am quite friendly, with an occasionally off-color sense of humour. I'm unflaggingly honest, to the point that it irritates some of my friends. I'm quiet, reserved, and somewhat shy. I am also a crazy gamer geek. As for what I am looking for: I would like to meet a kind, caring young woman who does not mind someone who's a bit odd at times, and who can carry on with a conversation about the completely random at times, and other times exhaust a topic to its inevitable conclusion. If she is a gamer, all the better. I'm not particularly clingy, and I'm fairly conservative in relationship type things, so be aware of that. I don't want a bar hopper or a smoker or a heavy partier, because that will mean there are substantial interests we do not share.
First Date
Frankly, I'd want to talk quite a bit before dating. Not on the telephone; I hate the telephone as a communication medium. IM is sufficiently informal while also permitting the level of introspection that an informal medium permits. Face to face communication is good, for one can get substantial message from face and body language, and therefore communicate on more than one level. Phone conversation requires very quick responses, but does not permit the contextual evidence that is granted by face to face contact. IM is akin to letter writing, however. I digress. After speaking substantially, I'd like to get together, possibly for coffee or some such. Maybe Noodles. It's a nice place, and informal enough that we could relax. I don't see that a first date needs to be much more than that.
