About Me
I'm currently in a relationship with a wonderful boy, but am always up for new friends!
The world is neat. If you agree, drop me a line! I enjoy galavanting through parks, watching any film I can get my hands on, conversations over tea and cookies, trying new cuisines, cooing like a pigeon, and Oxford commas. Depending on my mood, I'm either content to curl up in a blanket and read, or raring to go on an adventure somewhere.
I'm working on my MA at UWO in Global Film Cultures. My thesis is bouncing between a few ideas right now, but they all involve modernity, post-war European and American cinema, and the film musical. My interests, though, are extremely wide, including the various European 'new wave' movements (eg. French Nouvelle Vague), the avant garde, psychoanalysis, film history and Hollywood.
People claim that I'm eccentric, infallibly cheery and intellectually challenging -- some may even say exhausting. I don't hide my emotions well, and you'll always know exactly how I feel. (Which I believe is a good thing. I'm as honest as they get!) Shiny things will never fail to entertain me, and the appearance of any fluffy animal within 10 metres will result in squeels of delight. But don't let this fool you: I'm cynical and sarcastic. The glass is not only half empty, it's cracked and bleeding water on the table. Let's splash in it.
Do you like critical theory, controversial ideas and meandering debates where you constantly change sides? Then we'll get along. The world is a rainbow of grey -- let's explore the possibilities a bit!
