About Me
I am a senior editor for a Toronto-based magazine where I write about theatre, concerts, festivals, shopping, dining and art. There are lots of nice perks to my job such as tickets to shows and free samples that would be nice to share with someone. I have met some interesting people through my job; the highlight being Nelson Mandela.
Good grammar is attractive to me. I don't consider "ur" to be a substitute for "your" or "you're," nor is "cuz" for "because."
I own my own home (well, the bank owns 70% of it though I have squatter's rights) and commute into Toronto daily for work.
I once had a manager whose mantra for his employees was: Leave laughing on Friday afternoons and come in smiling on Monday mornings. This is pretty much how I approach life.
I belong to a big, extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins whom I'm very close to, while my immediate circle of friends includes a group of girls that I have known since kindergarten.
I am known amongst my family and friends for my baked goods. Peanut butter cupcakes, double-chocolate brownies and s'mores pie are among my specialties. And because of my nephews I can make a mean grilled cheese.
I play in a dodgeball league (there is such a thing) and my team has been known to host practice sessions. I can't throw a ball to save my life but I am an awesome blocker.
Confession #1: Coffee is a must in the morning for me. I often consider drinking coffee right out of the pot but fear being judged for it.
Confession #2: I suck at math. Please don't ask me to solve x + y for you or a long division problem, that won't be a pretty sight (though I am oddly decent at fractions). I don't get how x + y can equal a number since 1 + 1 doesn't equal A.
I have a pretty sarcastic sense of humour and can be quick with the quips. I am looking for someone who will challenge me and make me think outside of my comfort zone. I'm not saying I'll change my mind about something, but I appreciate someone who can make me see things from a different perspective.
