About Me
I am a woman who loves her life, and who respects herself and others,

I am also old enough to remember watching the moon landing on our old B/W tv as it was happening,...
I am currently divorced and although my 3 sons are all adults now officially,..my youngest who is currently finishing his Masters at Dal., still lives with me and our 2 dogs,....
One knee high beagle mix and a tea cup yorkie I rescued in Mexico,...both 13 yrs old now,...
We recently moved back into the city (Hfx.near P.P.Park), and love it, but may leave the province when the boy is done,....since he is the only reason I am living in the maritimes,...and I am the only family he has left here,....
The future is unwritten for either of us and therefore unlimited, for us both....
I have a number of friends who would never consider moving because of proximity to their family or friends,....The boy and I have some family in Ontario and some in Edmonton but we have moved so much in our lives that the whole world is optional to either of us,....it`s the best part about living in the computer age,....you are never farther away than the nearest keyboard,.....
Although I am happy with my own company and in my own skin,...having someone to share a meal or an outing with,.. is better than eating alone....
I am NOT interested in getting married,...been there done that,...

I spent six month some time ago now, in Puerto Vallarta Mexico,...with the idea that I might like to live there forever,...whilst there I discovered 2 things,...
1) forever isn't nearly as long as it used to be,...
2) paradise is NOT a geographic location,....it's WHAT, WHERE AND WITH WHOM you make it.
BTW I HATE WINTER,...but that I already knew,...
I love to laugh,..unabashedly out loud,unapologetically, occasionally to the chagrin of other movie goers...
I think it's subjective to say I have a great sense of humor,...(which BTW I think I do) but honestly have you ever met someone who claims they don't?,...
and we all know, they are out there.
It takes "me" about 13 seconds to know if the "snap" is there between myself and a man,...
or even if it could develop over some time,....and I haven't been wrong yet,...
which is what I find hard about meeting people because I don't want or like being rude, or hurting someone's feelings,.... and although I don't have so many friends that one of them has to go on the critical list before I will consider someone new, many men find even that suggestion insulting, and in fairness I get it,....point being I like to converse for a while first before I meet someone, get to know them a bit,...
it's just easier to say sorry on paper than to a face,...
and it is noteworthy to mention that I am somewhat of a throwback, to times gone by when a woman was asked to go out on a date,...and yes I am very liberated in most ways, that's a niche' I can't seem to climb out of,...and having someone hold your chair/coat and open doors, who like to stroll with a lady,.. arms linked,....not a requirement,...but a definite bonus,....ALSO!!!!

I have recently over the past 6 months (2010-2011) had 2 actual strokes and several mini ones,
The strokes have made my mobility more of an issue but nothing else, my speech,...well lest`s just say even a
stroke won`t shut me up,....so my gift of gab is perfectly intact,....my memory isn`t what it used to be,...and my eye sight sucks ,....then again I am getting older and my vision sucked even before the strokes,..so that just may be the reason,....
AND,....that`s probably wayyyyy, more information than you need or want,.But I believe in full disclosure,...
** And to all you sweet young things,..here's the thing,...I already raised 3 boys,...they are now from 25-39,...I am not interested in raising more
so, thanks for the compliments in the past,...(I Hope)
I'm not a "COUGAR" I like fellas at least close to my own age, and life's experience thanks,...
My suggestion,...put the keyboard down, get your shoes and coat and ,...get out there and mix it up,...your far too young to need this I think,...there are gaggles of them out there any given night ready to met you,...but just a thought,....

I think the best first date is one where you share a good meal, as you get to know someone,...casually at first,....
I have had some interesting comments regarding this,...and meeting while eating out,...some men have stated they don't want to be getting to know someone while chewing through their meal,....
NOW,... and I'm not kidding here, I have been told to my face,...they don't want to spend the $$$ on someone Else's meal and possibly get nothing out of it,....if things don't work out,....
First of all,...most women I know (myself included) would ever go anywhere if they couldn't pay their own way,....and good table manners,...says a lot too,...
meeting for a coffee at Tims is ok,....but I admire the man who isn't afraid to demonstrate his table manners and illuminating dinner conversation,....especially if the outcome isn't a sure thing,....
Some have suggested going for a drive,...and before you ask,...remember this isn't a time where women feel comfortable or even safe going into a car with what for all intent and purpose is a stranger,....
we have told our children this all their life and would be fools to start doing it ourselves now,....so please, don't ask me,...because I practice what I preach,....and I'm no fool,....ok?
