Visiting Portland's MOA I was transfixed by a painting of a cow pulling a cart, before noticing it was by arguably the world's most famous artist. Second time with this painter, first was in Paris when I lived there.
Sophisticated, moi? Nah. Had to look at the tags to know the artist, wasn't his usual style. Most of time, I am a much more regular guy. At nice restaurants my eyes will wander to the craft beers instead of the wine list if you ain't watching. Heck, may even get a Molson.
But I will enjoy the wine if you pick a good one. Or even a not so good one - better at cooking than choosing wine. My recipes include microwaving Maine lobsters, so take that with a grain of salt.
Read a lot. Some of it clever, most of it not, except for my work reads. Jane Austen? Lovely, even if Game of Thrones is more my game. Franz Ferdinand was a blast live @ Commodore, but I also like classical, Arcade Fire, Mother Mother, Morcheeba & sundry electronica.
Hope we can exchange author tips. And discuss whatever rocks our boat long into the evening around that bottle you chose. Gladwell's latest? Global warming? TEDs? Not just the Canucks' prospects, pleeeease.
I love water and mountains from growing up on a hot island . Blase enough about heat to like cold, especially when snowboarding. I consider myself very lucky to be living here, with our glorious hiking and running spots. Quite fit, but not obsessive, just feel more energized that way.
You, of course. Smart, the more the better, but can turn it off to be silly. Physical and likes to get sweaty (no, not only that way). Fun to be with and happy with your life. Oh, and with a picture and living nearby.
What more can a guy ask for? An email of course!
