I’m Chinese, originally from Toronto, labeled as a Banana or Twinkie – yellow on the outside, white on the inside. I prefer the term Banana - it’s the healthier choice. I don’t speak any Chinese but the little that I do know is ‘Bad Boy!’ – learned by repetition when growing up - and also after enrolling in a Cantonese-speaking course, “How much are these mangoes?” Strangely, it’s the only phrase that I’ve managed to remember.
I work and I play. I mostly prefer the latter. I do have goals and take my career seriously as it has taken a lot of ambition to get to where I am, but I work to live, not the other way around. I spend most of my free time playing volleyball, baseball, board games, as well as having dinner with friends and watching movies – buttered popcorn anyone?
I would say that I’m someone who doesn’t easily lose his temper - just his car keys. I’m easy-going, down-to-earth and I like to be spontaneous. To be objective, a less favourable quality that I possess is indecisiveness. However, my inability to sometimes make quick decisions is not to the degree where I become paralyzed by it. I manage it very well with the help of my Magic 8 Ball. I like to try and overcome my deficiencies.
My favourite bands are Zero7, Moby and Theivery Corporation. My taste in music is down-tempo, electronica and generally speaking mellow - stuff that may be hazardous on long drives - but I also listen to some Top 40. Can't seem to stop playing Sail-Awolnation.
I'd like to meet people who are enthusiastic, passionate, down-to-earth and most importantly, balanced. Quirkiness is welcomed and an affinity for roller-coasters would be a plus.
