About Me
When I come home from work I like to get out in the yard or set up in the kitchen for hours at a time. Decadence in life experiences keeps me sane; rich wines, rich foods, rich views, rich sensations. I have an aversion to materialistic desires, and maintain strong ethics concerning consumerist whoring (e.g. I do not support movie theaters in any way). I am reasonably critical of myself and others and believe in achieving your best; I am looking for this in friends and significant others. Change is a significant factor in my past and most likely my future -- change in people, places, ideas and goals.
On the lighter side... My dog is a black miniature schnauzer and I love him. His name is Bentley but often goes by Biggles, and he's just turning 1. I like to have 1 to 2 glasses of wine at dinner, or to enjoy a beer or two, usually something from a microbrewery or imported. Cooking settles my nerves and a future goal would be to get a second degree in Culinary Arts and prepare food for a living. Campfires are a must, at least a few times a year (as soon as I get a yard with room for a fire pit it will be frequented more often). Places with huge crowds of idiots are the bane of my existence, although I do take in the small restaurant/bar with enjoyment. My friends and I have quite a bit of enjoyable evenings at one another's houses playing poker, scrabble, watching movies and having dinner parties. On the weekends we frequent a nearby pool/jacuzzi, sometimes a little to tipsy to clear the fence ;)

First Date
It would depend on what the person enjoys. There would of course be a period of time of acquainting ourselves until an initial meeting. And that would probably revolve around a park, perhaps a small picnic, or somewhere we could go to have a small snack over a few glasses of wine. But that's just what I feel like doing today...the date would be a mutual decision.
