My name is Harvey.
I consider myself to be intelligent, deep, adventurous, passionate and very open-minded. I also admire these qualities in other people. I respect people who think for themselves and don't automatically and blindly subscribe to social norms and conventions. Nothing irritates me more than 'herd-mentality' and unquestioning obedience. In fact, I believe the reason the world has been allowed to reach such a dire state of affairs is because of peoples persistent willingness to just 'go with the flow' and not ask too many questions, without even taking into consideration the long-term implications of their actions.
I tend to focus my attention on 'the bigger picture' and try not to get too caught up in the superficial, trivial aspects of life. Substance, meaning and purpose are far more valuable to me than material possessions and social status ever will be. I'm constantly striving to gain a deeper understanding of life, people and the world around me, which has to some people labelling me as 'intense', but I personally consider that to be a good quality.
Ideally I would like to meet people who are intelligent and like-minded, even if it's just for a chat. If anything comes from that then great. The ability to have a decent conversation is more important to me than age or appearance. I could continue to rant on about the things that interest and inspire me but I'd be here for hours, so instead I'll leave you with a list of some of my interests and favourite quotes, which I feel gives a good impression of what I'm like as a person...
