I love people, ideas, and making things happen. I also love Oktoberfest. I've done many things, from amateur theatre to amateur auto repair to amateur living in Sweden. I have very wide interests and will try almost anything. But sorry, kids, I'm not jumping out of a plane unless it's to liberate my country.
As for good times, I like to throw parties and other social gatherings that bring people together. Volunteering, brunch, givin'er on my accordion, running, bocce, independent film, fixing stuff, building stuff, live music, CBC Radio, Espace musique, farmers' markets, my vegetable garden, Toastmasters, live theatre, and guest lectures are all good.
Once in a while I like to splurge a bit and max out my library card. Some favourite reads include: The 100-Mile Diet, Walden, Life at the Bottom, Screwtape Letters, The E-Myth, English-Speaking Justice, A Pattern Language, and Jonathan Cleaned Up-Then He Heard a Sound. Spot the patterns and win one of many fabulous prizes.
Like most people these days, I'm doing the teacher-guy / business-guy thing. It's way more fun than a real job - and you get a cool business card.
