I'm a legally blind man (20/200 vision in my right eye, nearly completely blind in my left eye). Just getting that out of the way, of course, as I know that questions will come up (they always do!) and it helps preclude the nasty surprise that I can't drive. As I can't drive, and live in Texas, that ruins a lot of potential that I have for hanging out, dating, et cetera.
I'm an aspiring author, I enjoy writing things that have next to no proper literary merit. It's my goal to tell a good story that people enjoy on its own merits, despite it being little more than pulp fiction. Overall, I just want to tell enjoyable stories for a living.
I like talking to people, and chatting about near anything except religion or politics. Those two subjects have caused me more grief in my life than anything else in recent memory, and have continued to irritate me. I like comic books, cartoons, dramas, movies of all sorts, video games, and music. I want to meet a woman who likes these things as well, and doesn't have any problem with admitting it.
A woman who likes those things, and knows what she likes when dealing with other things, but isn't inflexible, is what I would like to see. I don't mind if she's shy or outgoing, it's all good.
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
As far as first dates go, the old staple of dinner and a movie is a good one. The only problem with it that I've found is that it tends to cut down on conversation. If the date takes place near where I live, then I like to walk to the places where the date will be. This often involves a long walk, but generally lets me talk more, and tell better jokes.
Then, we would go to some of my favorite places. I enjoy walking primarily because, if I see something I want to investigate, or if someone else does, then it's much easier to simply turn and walk over there than to stop the car and turn around.
Of course, raiding a bookstore is always a good choice; I love going about in bookstores and pointing out things I like, and suggesting silly books to my date, while she does the same.
And finally, another idea that I have always been fond of is to cook dinner myself, and serve it at my place, or as a picnic. Walking around and talking, as well as urban exploration have always been interests of mine. Going out with someone who also enjoys finding the sources of things would be wonderful.
