About Me
Alright, a bit about me. Well, I'm an ex-nerd, turned marine, got I'm a former marine, former computer geek working on getting back his swagger. I'm something of a poet, I write mostly bitter, angry poems, but I'm not a bitter, angry person. That doesn't mean that my writing is fake, I write when I'm at my low points, but I don't stay there, so when I talk to people, I'm more likely to be upbeat, and kinda goofy. I believe anything worth doing is worth doing well... which is far less of a good thing than people imagine. Yes, it means when I'm doing something, I go all out, and do a good job, but it also means I do less than I probably would otherwise, after all, if it's not worth the effort of putting everything I can into it, it's not worth doing (counter positive, or something, see? ex geek, don't even remember the logic term for that sort of thing.) I've been a network administrator, department head, stock cleric, paperboy, construction worker, warehouse worker, factory worker, amusement park ride operator, the statue of liberty, warehouse manager, satelite installer, computer technician, and janitor. All in no particular order, and I think I made more as a janitor per hour than I did with any of those other jobs, and that's only jobs I've gotten paid for. I'm now a mortgage consultant and should... in theory be making a lot of money very soon. But if you're a gold And this is a job worth doing well, so who knows? maybe I've finally landed on my feet. I'm now living near the town I was born in, which is kinda dull, but I've been to France, Spain, Isreal, Kosovo, Greece, italy, Croatia, Quebec, New york, New Jersey, Mass, New Hampire, Maine, California,Ohio, North Carolina, Pennselvania, South Carolina, Washington DC,Vermont, Maryland, and Virginia. I'm sure I've forgotten places (not rhode island though, which I think is the only new england state I've never visited) Once again, in no order. My love life is spuratic at best, I'm not really the type to go out and meet people all that often, so I'm rarely actually dating. The type of woman I genarally like, intelligent and playful, usually isn't at the types of places I try to meet them... um... at the bar, and if I actually show up to the bar, I'm either too shy to learn if they're intelligent and witty, or two drunk to tell. Ah well, nothing's perfect :-p
First Date
Well, to me a first date is generally just a get to know you thing. I'd rather just meet at a coffee house, or someplace for a light lunch or something, so we can chat, exchange playful banter, generally feel each other out a bit. I'm not opposed to something more elaborate, but I like to save the "starlit walk on the beach" sort of thing for when I know the girl a little better.
