About Me
I am a single male, university educated and professionally employed in the humanities. My job (high-school teacher) is challenging (ya ya, I know... summers off...!), with a high standard of accountability, and intrinsically rewarding, and I also spend 2-3 days a week coaching a competitive youth sports team. Being able to give back through volunteering makes it all worthwhile!
Perhaps initially appearing quiet and introspective, once I get to know you, I'm quite the chatterbox, and at times downright goofy ... will talk about anything from useless trivia to social issues (friendly banter can be healthy!).... there's also a pinch of sarcasm and dry wit to me, too... I have a self-depricating sense of humour (read: I have a high self-concept, I can laugh at myself), and admire positive, funny, witty, women. Mellow, but competitive, too (not egotistical)! You don't have to be a Canucks, or even a hockey (yikes!) fan, but would be ok going to a game or two! Totally understand that time shared and individual time are important... I would be the type to support your interests in the name of being considerate. I should add that your income level, etc., is unimportant, what is is if you love what you do.
I almost need music on all the time to keep me stimulated... hugely envy all artistic (visual/dramatic/musical) people - wish I had a musical intelligence! I am intrigued by history and culture, nostalgia and enjoy discovering new things. I'm up for just about anything... quality time spent with someone is more important than the activity - my free time is sometimes at a premium, but I'm up to learning new things with someone at my side, lifelong learning is very cool, and sharing that experience would be even better. I'd like to think I'm fairly balanced, holding both traditional and liberal values. I own my own place and continue to work hard, and am searching to share my downtime with, to experience and lifelong-learn with. Self-actualization is always a work in progress!

I admire and have a great respect for humanitarians and compassionate people.
