About Me
Update: I'm currently in a happy relationship, and am not looking for anything serious. However, if there are any women out there who would like to hang out, in a friendly or casual dating manner, feel free to message me. I identify myself as bisexual, but have not had any experience dating women. I have expressed my desire to explore this side of me to my boyfriend, and he has been very accepting about it. I'm not looking for a second partner, and I'm not looking for a one night stand. I'd just like to meet more people like me, and take it from there. (That is, I'm open to intimacy, but it's not what I'm immediately seeking.) I'm always happy to make new friends! Also: the boyfriend works out of town every Monday-Thursday, so those are usually the best days for me to get together. :)

Hey there, and welcome to my profile!
I guess you'd like to know a little bit about me, hey? I'm educated, own a condo, and live with my roommate and two cats. I studied graphic design at UofA, and still keep myself active in the field with freelance projects. Every summer, I look forward to the Edmonton festivals, and getting back out on the river with my Dragon Boat team! In the fall, I keep myself busy with NaNoWriMo (Google it!). I love arts, theatre, board games, good grammar, folk music, my camera, and things that are geeky. I love great conversations, be it with friends or strangers. I'm also a sucker for overpriced lattes.
Sometimes I wish I could just drop everything and travel on a one-way ticket, but being a "grounded" person, I have trouble letting go of finances and other commitments to make it happen. I have been thinking of teaching English in Japan, and/or moving to Vancouver in the future, at the very least. I have a lot of respect for people that travel, and do plan on making it a priority over the next few years. If you've travelled, I'd like to hear your stories!
My great-great-grandfather wrote the traditional Newfie song I'se da B'ye. I think that's pretty cool.
I see you've stuck around so far. Excellent! So, what am I looking for? Well, I'm a fairly open and laid-back person. Things like good conversation, intelligence and a sense of humour appeal to me, and open-mindedness is especially important. I have gay friends (and am a proud supporter/attendee of the pride parade every year), and I love talking to and learning from people of all ages and backgrounds. So, it's important for me to be with someone who's accepting of others. I enjoy learning new things, going out with friends, but I also enjoy a relaxing evening in. I used to be a bit of a WoW geek during my spare time at home, and while I don't play anymore, I like other geeky things. ^^' I try to keep in shape by going to the gym, but I'm no star athlete, so if you're looking for someone to keep up with you physically, I'll probably be a bit inadequate. Likewise, I enjoy going out for the social drink, but I'm not a bar star, so if you're looking for someone to go dancing/drinking with every weekend, I'll opt to stay in more often than not.
That's all for now! Cheers!

First Date
Jam nights are a lot of fun, because it gives you an environment to speak to the person you're with while still having something engaging to break any possible awkwardness. I'll admit, I'm not the best at breaking the ice, but if you're comfortable and chatty, I will be too!
Remedy Cafe is always a great place to check out (with great Indian food and chai!), or any coffee shop. Taking a walk is a good way to get to know someone as well. Of course, I'm always up for suggestions. I'll try pretty much anything!
