About Me
I'm not looking for the love of my life, nor am I looking for a booty call - I am mostly here for the forums. Due to health issues, I don't feel it fair to the other person to get into a relationship, but I'm always open to new friendships with both males and females. Please do not take my answers to "intent", "income" and "longest relationship" seriously as I had no choice but to answer them. I feel income and longest relationship should not be mandatory on a profile and none of the answers for "intent" fit me.
Activities that I enjoy are computer graphics (I am involved in the internet graphics community and maintain my own website - yes I will give you the address if you ask), playing Scrabble (I play online with people from all over the world), debating and discussing current events, flea markets, yard sales, drives in the country, fall fairs, and reading - mostly mystery/horror novels (ie. Robin Cook, Patricia Cornwell). Things I have not done in a long time but do enjoy include horseback riding and swimming. I am not into the "night life" or loud, crowded places but do enjoy a drink on a patio or in a quiet bar occasionally.
I am a big animal lover (especially dogs and horses) and one thing that gets my dander up very quickly is animal abuse. I have zero tolerance for it. I am "mom" to a female beagle mix, and anyone who wants to be in my life will have to meet her standards. Tip: if you give her a treat and a pet, it's not hard to get her to like you!
UPDATE: I have had to give up my beloved dog because of health issues and am in the process of testing and seeing specialists to try to find out what is wrong - asthma was suspected but some testing has shown other problems. I could not give her the kind of life every dog deserves - namely, daily walks - but I hope in the future to be able to have another one when I recover to the point I can go for walks again.
In the interest of being completely honest, I will say that I do have medical issues and live with chronic pain. However, I do live independently and while these things may slow me down, they have not broken me. I do not intend to let them do so.
