UPDATE: Seriously? There are 100 million Americans without jobs who are struggling to get by, but everyone on this site has fantastic careers and is doing great. I have had some setbacks in my personal life so dating is mostly on hold for the moment, but the door is not entirely shut if the right person comes along. I am still open to talking to anyone who is in the same boat - trying to get work or starting a small business, but otherwise I probably would have a hard time holding up my part of any relationship. Thank's for understanding.
Hey Fishettes- thanks for checking me out! I'm friendly, outgoing and adventurous, but also sometimes shy and reserved- a bit of a contradiction. Most people like my sense of humor and I am honest to a fault however I have a wild side and occasionally like flavors other than vanilla Just uploaded some recent pics and think I am fairly well preserved- not a stud muffin but I do hit the gym fairly frequently. I haven't quite made it to where I want to be in business yet but I am still ambitious and have some great possibilities. I tend to like people with an international or entrepreneurial orientation and those who want to make a difference in the world. I'm attracted to women who are fun, fit, intelligent and open minded- I believe in equal partnerships but I also want a nice playmate! It may be a long shot, but eventually I would like to find a partner that I can connect with physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
"Sex without love is an empty experience, but as far as empty experiences go, it is one of the best."
"Never kick a man when he is down, you might hurt your foot- use a stomping action instead."
"Be sincere - even if you don't mean it!"
REJECTED BY EHARMONY!! Yes, I really was rejected by eHarmony- just like those guys in the ads- so if I have some fascination with those who I am rated compatible with, that's why.
NEW- POINT SYSTEM. Some girl on Match wrote me and when I went to her profile she had a "point" system- guys were supposed to add or deduct points based on the attributes she wanted. At first, I was a little taken aback, but then I thought- what the heck- I'll make up my own point system- so without further ado, start with 100 points and:
*Add 20 points if you look good in blue jeans
*Add 10 points if you have freckles
It's true, I have a freckle fetish, but don't worry- it's just one of many things of that nature and I like other skin tones and colors as well.
*Add 15 points if you are from Irish or Italian extraction
Yes, I have a thing for Italian and Irish women, but certainly think other nationalities have their fair share of "hotness".
*Subtract 20 points if you wear glasses (except to drive)
I feel kind of bad about this one, I know it makes no sense but even supermodels look less attractive to me when they put on glasses- might be overstating that a bit but you get the idea.
*Add 20 points if you work out regularly (include yoga, bike rides, sports- whatever)
*Add 20 points if you read at least one book a month (more or less)
*Add 15 points each if you have any of the following words or phrases in your profile:
-down to earth
*Deduct 15 points each if you have any of the following words or phrases in your profile:
-knight in shining armor
-Prince Charming (or any ridiculous medieval references)
-looks good in a tux
*Deduct 20 points if you expect the first date to be a restaurant dinner
*Add 20 points if you are divorced
I've never been married but think I would be a good second chance person
*Add 10 points if it doesn't upset you to see a male drinking directly from a milk carton.
*Add 10 more points if you yourself sometimes drink milk directly from the carton.
I hope no one goes to the trouble of adding up these numbers- and don't be shy about writing me even if you don't think your score is great- I don't bite! - at least not usually.
HEART OF DARKNESS
"One thing is certain, the rest is lies- the flower that once has bloomed- forever dies!"

"All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you... But first, they must catch you"

BUT SEEKING THE LIGHT
"There was the door to which I had no key, there was the veil through which I could not see"
The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
"If they say to you, 'Where did you come from?', say to them, 'We came from the light, the place where the light came into being on its own accord"
Jesus Christ, From the Gnostic Bible
"Now he has departed from this strange world a little ahead of me. That means nothing. People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion."
"There is a light that shines within, you have only to move out from your own shadows"
SOME SONG LYRICS I'm something of an idiot savant when it comes to remembering song lyrics- here are a few that come to mind:
I swear it happened just like this,
a sigh, a cry, a hungry kiss,
the gates of love they budged an inch,
I can't say much has happened since-
but closing time...
We're busted in the blinding light-
of closing time
Closing time, by Leonard Cohen
And I, I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives, are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I’d have had to miss the dance"
The Dance, by Garth Brooks
"I’ve been searching for the daughter
Of the Devil himself
I’ve been searching for an angel in white
I’ve been waiting for a woman who’s a little
Of both, and I can feel her- but she’s nowhere
One of These Nights, Eagles
Like any dealer he was looking for the card
that is so high and wild
He'd never need to deal another
The Stranger Song, by Leonard Cohen
I won't ask you to pledge your future,
the future's not yours to give
If We Try, by Don McClean
"The full moon is calling, The fever is high
And the wicked wind whispers and moan
You've got your demons, You've got desired
Well I've got a few of my own"
