I'm an old-school gentleman philosopher in the scientific tradition who values the spiritual journey over religious dogma any-old-day. I'm generally easy-going, low maintenance, reliable, responsible, open, and honest. I can be a little reserved with someone new but am otherwise reasonably confident, well grounded, and comfortable in my own skin. To me it's not whether the glass is half-full or half-empty, I'm just thankful to have a glass.
For those who follow such things, I am a predominately INTP, type C personality. I prefer a drama-free and relaxed domestic lifestyle with a good mix of planning and spontaneity. Jeans are my daily uniform but I clean up alright. My interests range from sports to the arts and sciences (particularly astronomy), music, food, and I'm a long-time sci-fi fan with a few short stories in publication. Ideally I'd really like to find another sci-fi fan who enjoys traveling to sf/f conventions.
I like many types of music, baroque, classical, jazz, fusion, 60s and later rock, and progressive rock. My musical interests are eclectic, as my Pandora radio list can attest: Yes, Evanesence, Traveling Wilburys, Debussy, Meatloaf, Gregorian Chants, Rush, Bach, Matrix, Asia, Clannad, Messiaen, and Flamenco to name a few.
Right now I'm happy to say my life is fairly stable. I have a nice little house in a quiet part of town, no credit card debt, physically healthy, quit smoking several years ago, drink very occasionally, and drive a car that I've owned more than half of my life. I like things that last. I walk or ride a bicycle to help stay healthy, and I have walked in the SGK Race For The Cure and the Little Rock Marathon.
I'm not interested in anything casual, just-friends, or long-distance, and I'm not here just for dates. It has been more than eight years since my divorce - I don't need a woman in my life, I want one. I am seeking an intelligent, adult, creative, confident, open-minded and responsible woman with similar or compatible interests for long-term companionship. She will be interested, as am I, in building a relationship based on friendship, trust, open communication and mutual respect. I don't intend to settle for anything less and she shouldn't either.
