I believe in being honest and open with whatever we are all doing here. None of us are perfect and its those imperfections that make us who we are and we all want to be accepted for who we are. To me that is one of the most important aspects of a healthy, happy, relationship. I've been asked many times what am I looking for in a man, after considerable thought I can say it is someone who I can be myself with, someone who get me and I do the same for them. It has to start there. Concerns like being smart enough, skinny enough, rich enough, workout enough, am I enough for someone. To the right person we are enough. no, more than that, we are enough period.
I am a by nature a gentle listener and empathizer but can banter with the best of them if I have the right partner. I love deep conversations about life and beyond, silliness and laughter, snow, silence, and looking forward. I enjoy being together but relish solitude for reflection and recharging, so if you understand this about me you are half way into my intimate nature.
I have been a Washingtonian all my life but enjoy traveling and seeing the country. Garage sales, county fairs, various festivals always peak my interest. I love music and discovering new artists, has become one of my hobbies. I miss going to concerts, I would like to get back into that.
I am not very political, if I were to categorize myself it would be liberal. Funny/serious, intellectual/goofy.
my favorite quotes: (I try and aspire to these)
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”
William W. Purkey
People may not remember what you say and people may not remember what you do but people WILL remember how you make them feel.
“Don’t only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise men to the divine.” Ludwig van Beethoven
I consider humor a top priority in any of my relationships, if someone makes me laugh I'm in. I also value kindness and just plain consideration for other people. I sometimes like silence, if we are out sitting by a lake or an overlook just being silent is just as endearing as a conversation. I also love animals, I used to live in the country and miss it. So people I am drawn to usually have a love of animals, nature and a desire to help people.
For anyone out there who does want to contact me, I am very approachable and friendly and will treat you with respect until you give me a reason not to or I give you a reason not to. We are all looking to make connections somehow and who knows maybe this could be a positive step.
