About Me
Executive Summary:
I am vegan, atheist, and childfree. I'd like to meet a woman with similar values. Intelligence, honesty, curiosity about the world, and sensuality are important to me. Nerdiness/geekiness are a big plus. I live simply and modestly. I pay my bills. I don't have a car. I can drive. I walk, transit, and like biking. I like road trips.

Long version:
I love the natural world, the universe we inhabit and this blue-green jewel of a planet we live on. I take pictures of bugs that interest me. I love walking through the woods or along the shore (hat on my head and copious amounts of sunblock to ward off the day-star that burns). It pains me that we as a species treat the world so poorly, and I do my best to live lightly upon the Earth, and respect the other creatures we share it with.

I'm also [stereotypically] fascinated with technology and take great pleasure in figuring out how things work and tinkering with them. I deeply appreciate elegant design and simplicity. I love learning about science: Carl Sagan was a childhood hero. I believe in taking a skeptical view, challenging dogma and baseless assertion, seeking evidence, and being comfortable with not-knowing, rather than accepting easy answers.

I stand in awe of the beauty of the universe and nature; but I see no need to subscribe to supernatural explanations for anything, or "believe in" fanciful things when the world as we know it is already fantastic and bizarre enough. That's my spirituality.

I love to get out of the city, see the country and rolling hills and mountains and plains. To see the innumerable stars and the misty scattering of the Milky Way. To take pleasure in the gentle breeze in the treetops, and cool lake water on a hot summer's day. To spot a deer, or raccoon, or eagle. Yet I am long accustomed to the convenience of the city, the proximity to everything one might need. The thought of moving away sits at the back of my mind, but such a day seems far off for now.

I also love to watch a good movie, documentary, or show. This is admittedly my most frequent pastime.

I enjoy museums (the Museum of Anthropology is fantastic, and I recently visited the Royal Ontario Museum, which was incredible), art galleries, and interesting community events.

I try to live simply, and I love the ideal and aesthetics of minimalism. However, my place feels unpleasantly cluttered at the moment, so I'm not quite walking the walk yet. I can feel over-stimulated, so I prefer quiet environments, and visual simplicity.

I try to speak and live honestly and ethically. I'm influenced by the Buddhist Eightfold Path in that regard. That's not to say I'm devoid of tact, but I think the world has more than enough deception.

You like going for walks and bike rides.

You'd enjoy curling up on the couch and watching nature documentaries, SciFi shows/movies, and interesting flicks.

You are some magical combination of Lisa Simpson, Velma Dinkley, Magrat Garlick, and Willow Rosenberg.

First Date
Walk on the seawall, enjoy the view from Queen Elizabeth Park, visit an art gallery, or enjoy some tasty organic brown rice vegetarian sushi.
