I'm a pretty straight forward and honest guy, no games. I'm defiantly more the strong silent type but when I have something to say its usually good. I'm kind of old fashioned and a bit of a hopeless romantic at heart but i'm defiantly no prude. I love to goof around have fun, I can be sarcastic and silly but I can play the "straight man" to a T so don't be fooled by my occasional deadpan. I can be kinda shy and "stiff" when I'm getting to know someone, you can tell cause I only really swear when I'm comfortable with someone, or horribly frustrated but then I can curse a blue streak with the best of em.
I'm not looking to rush into things and I wouldn't be disappointed if I end up with another friend.
I do smoke a bit of pot but I'm a high functioning stoner not a space case. I would rather be intoxicated by a woman's beauty but unfortunately that has been in short supply lately so don't be a hater I have a lot to offer the right kind of woman.
What I'm looking for is a good hearted woman who is kind and considerate, a good listener who can bring out the best in me. Life is to short for negative people, sometimes it is better to travel alone then in bad company.
I'm from a small mining town in North Western Ontario and I moved to the Edmonton area 5 years ago. I love the outdoors, but I moved here for work and a change of pace. I'm not much for city life, its fun to visit but I'd really like to get a bunch of land and build my own house somewhere nice and quiet where I can't see my neighbors.
I find that people accept things too easily, give up too quickly and don't second guess excuses. I cherish the rare unique, unconventional, strange bizarre and beautiful things in life along with the simple every day miracles. Believe nothing, understand everything. I may be an idealistic passionate fool but I am certainly no idiot. I am patient, polite, and understanding. I'm a free spirit and I question everything never being satisfied with 'just cause'. I'm defiantly not for the faint of heart or the meager of spirit. I may be a tough guy but I have my soft side too. I'm a very affectionate and generous lover as well. I also give good massages. If anything I care too much and try too hard, I'd love to save the world from itself and everything else no matter how insane or improbable it seems just cause its the right thing to do.
Family is pretty important to me, I have two nieces and a nephew, they are simply adorable and full of trouble.
I believe in being honest and practical and that wisdom comes from facing your fears. I rise to challenges and overcome them, I'm great in a pinch I've spent many summers in the bush and have run into many problems but I've always been able to improvise a way out, you are only truely defeated when you give up.
I love dogs especially large breeds (they only look intimidating and don't spaz like little dogs can), I like cats too but I'm sensitive to their dander so long hair cats and wall to wall carpet is like death. I love adventure and the sensation of discovery, I have traveled some but I want to travel more I have a particular interest in ancient wonders and civilizations.
I am a bit of a movie buff, especially comedies, sci-fi, independent films and documentaries and I love exploring music, I love art in general whatever the medium. I also love to cook, I grew up going out in the bush and if you want to eat good you gotta know how to cook it yourself no room for sexism. Also I prefer fresh unprocessed foods so I cook from scratch all the time, lots of fruits and vegetables. I'm probably in the best shape of my life but I am trying to get in better condition and work out more. I plan on living a long life and I sure don't want to spend it in the hospital. I love trying new things and learning abut new cultures and ways of doing things. I like experimenting with doing new things, I am growing 3 pineapple plants and 2 avocado trees in my window. I enjoy reading books on spirituality and philosophy and anything by Terry Pratchett. I'm pretty handy and self reliant and I have taught myself to fix and maintain many things(properly too) from computers to buildings, appliances and engines.
I love a challenge and I see self improvement as a lifelong habit not a fleeting fancy. I plan on living a long and full life of purpose, fun, understanding, spontaneity and forethought.

First Date
Some sight seeing, going to the park, perhaps exploring the old parts of the city and rifling through the antique shops and record stores. perhaps an art exhibition or museum, dinner and a movie, drinks in a lounge, billiards and an arcade I'm game for pretty much anything as long as we can talk.
