About Me
I'm a girl that's optimistic and generally ok with my life. I've lived a lot, laughed a lot, loved a lot, played a lot, travelled some and ridden out a few of the nasty storms of life. I sometimes wonder what in the world life will fling at me next. Whatever it is, I'm keeping my seatbelt on!
I have an instant sense of humour and love witty people.
My activity level has changed because of past ill health, which is rapidly improving. Thankfully I have not lost my lust for life nor my positive attitude.
In years past, I've lived in a cabin in the woods on an island as well as worked in skyscrapers in the the largest city in Canada. I've helped to integrate developmentally challenged individuals into society, also have worked with seniors, listening to their stories and playing tunes for them from their era.
I have grown up kids and some grandkids who live in Ontario. Even with distances though, we're a close knit famiy.
Most of my friends are of the lasting kind. Some have been with me for 20 or 30 years and they mean a lot to me.
Although I don't have a pet at the moment, I have several sweet and loyal four legged friends.
I like music, almost anything. And that includes music from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, Pink, The Dixie Chicks, John Denver, folk music, Delta blues, smooth jazz, Lady Antebellum, Adele, Bob Marley, Shaggy, Plain White Tees, Michael Buble.
I paint and draw and am currently trying to incorporate mixed media in my portraits. I love to experiment with fusion cooking and am passionate about learning Thai cooking.
So just what am I looking for? Well, let's see.
Please don't be a liar, a smoker, or a drunk. If you are a nice guy, if you are kind and loving, gentle and fun, a one woman man, let's talk. At this stage of life, you probably don't look like George Clooney or Richard Gere. But then - neither do I.
I don't need a knight in shining armor, just a good guy wrapped in tinfoil would do just fine. Please don't look like Shrek though, ok? (Although I know it's not easy being green.)
Some of my philosophies:
* Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.
* I've found that people are like fruits, some are sour, some are sweet, some need to ripen a bit more and others just need to be put in the compost pile to help the next crop grow better.

First Date
How about somewhere quiet where we can get to know each other a bit better over a cup or glass. Timmy's has great coffee but I think everybody on POF is at Timmy's for their first meeting. That's why there's always a lineup, isn't it? All us singles standing in line for coffee to share with a new someone. How about people watching at White Rock? A glass of wine or beverage of choice in a quiet place? Burger King? A movie? Dinner? Looking at computers at Best Buy?
