About Me
I've been single for a long while, I have two grown children, a loving family and two dogs and a cat. I finished school recently and have embarked on a new career in Healthcare. I am the kind of person that when she was laid off from a job of 9 years that I took the luxury of laying in bed for a weekend and cried over the loss, but sat up on a Monday and decided that I couldn't continue to do that. So I made some hard decisions, accepted the necessary sacrifices to go back to school full time and finish what I started. So today I feel that I cleaned up well after that, and found out how strong I really am, and wonder why it took so long... but it happens all in good time doesn't it? I will say that even though its been decades since my divorce that losing ones job is very much like a divorce, and through crisis we find out what what we are made of.
Someone may ask what I do for a hobby, and I'd have to tell you that I need to figure that out now. LOL. I have spent the past three years with my nose in books. I am trying to figure out some great reads of fiction, this time as brain candy....
I have enjoyed dancing, although I haven't gone out lately as much, I do enjoy the outdoors, yet I am a temperate type person. So Spring and Autumn are my favorites seasons. Would I like to travel? Sure who wouldn't? But I'm not retiring any time soon so that will be according to PTO time... lol.... but am I curious about our world and what it has to offer? Yes I am.
I was raised Catholic yet I am not a staunch believer as I once was. I have visited other churches over the years and find I feel most comfortable listening to a Mass. Call it traditional, scripted, etc... I also enjoy the quiet, the incense that burns, the candles. You'd think I go regularly yet I don't. Funny thing I listen to Joel O'Steen every once in awhile on Sunday mornings... he is no where near a Catholic but I do enjoy what he says... but would I convert? no, probably not. But I guess my point here is I'm open... and prefer a man be the same.
I am a early to bed early to rise, and enjoy mornings... I'm that woman at the office that is smiling at 8 am... but I do try to tiptoe a bit around the night owls and give them a chance to have their coffee... I will even make the first pot...
I enjoy most genre's of music, would enjoy a live band, have had lots of fun at Starlight, Shakespeare in the Park would be something fun to do . I've gone to Funky Town for POF events... its been awhile though...
I have been here for a few years, I've taken time off from dating, and I've made some great friends too. I have one of my best friends who married her POF meet & greet. So I know it does work for some... I also hang out in the POF forum, which if more people would use it I think it would help with networking and getting to know how much you have in common, because you might be putting your best foot forward here but the truth shows itself if you talk enough in the forum...
First Date
I guess it depends on the season, altho I suppose I'm thinking Meet & Greet... nothing to intense just spend some time getting to know a fellow....
I do like coffee, tea, or wine.... hehehe.. oh or a diet coke... so much for beverages...
