Mystery is my middle name... As in the true spirit of a Scorpio woman. I am the mother of my 9-year old sweetie above all. We're a package deal... you have to pass the test with him to get with me! (Thought I'd let you know that up front... now if your still interested... read on... you've never encountered anyone like me before...)
The more you know, the more you have to know, and will want to know! I have an eclectic taste in music. I can be as happy listening to Mozart as I can be listening to Ludacris (and everyone in between). I love listening to music of praise as well (give the Lord his time). You will find me at karaoke singing almost anything depending on the mood of the day and the atmosphere of the crowd. I'll warn you now... I'm a musician who plays the trombone, the guitar, and the piano!
Give me a good comedy in any genre and I'm a happy camper, but I will watch anything with a friend or companion in exchange for the together time. My all time favorite movie is the original of "The Blob"... you know... Steve McQueen and the gang! I love to watch the FOX Movie Channel "Hour of Stars"... black and white movies really turn me on... like 'Laura'. My all time sappy romance movie is "An Affair to Remember"... or "Sleepless in Seattle I". And, I still can spend a quiet afternoon watching Natalie Wood as Gypsy Rose Lee!
I love the dramas on non-cable television. You can find me watching CSI and Heroes (yes, I know they come on at the same time). Give me Criminal Minds and Ghost Whisperer and Close to Home... not to mention Without a Trace and Cold Case. I'm not just into the serial killer shows... I also like the romantic dramas like Grey's Anatomy and Men in Trees... and even Desperate Housewives from time to time. I haven't been able to get into to Sisters and Brothers, but I didn't like Sally Field as the Flying Nun and Callista Flockheart in Allie McBeale. Don't get me wrong, I like Spike's "Dirt"; TBS "Monk" and "Psyche"; and even some shows on LOGO (I don't care that the guys are gay on "Noah's Arc", they are still hot!). I even get into the pop culture reality TV shows like "Yo Mama" and "I Love New York" and definitely "American Idol" and "Surviver Wherever". Or, you might catch me watching the Redneck comedy shows... you can take the girl out of Culpeper, but you can't take Culpeper out of the girl...
I read Bible study books more than any other self help book. I also like to read books by Judy Collins (especially the ones about the Santangelo family). I enjoy book clubs which introduce me to books like "The Red Tent" which I would probably never have read otherwise (try reading that one against the Old Testament... very interesting.)
I'd like to meet someone who is tired of all the games (unless it's Scrabble or Trivia Pursuit or a game on the corner of a bar), ready to make a real friendship with the possibility of it becoming more because it just does. Someone who is a breathe of fresh air, truthful, carefree yet concerned, and just a true pleasure to be around. A passion for dancing and being together is a must. A thirst for living and sharing everything... no secrets. I am looking for a person of action, who just does things because that's what they want to do... not because it is expected. Someone who "gets" what I am about and can realize my true depth in through my shallow moments. I am looking for some who I can talk with about culture, entertainment, politics, and daily happenings and the conversation never ends... Someone who doesn't feel awkward because I don't drink since I made the conscious decision to stop on my own. I won't judge you if you drink... please don't judge me because I won't. I still know how to have a good time when I'm out although staying at home can also be fun... a man who can cook... ooh la la!
Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
The first date would depend on what you feel comfortable doing whether it's taking me on in a game of darts at the local billards place or taking in a movie or a cozy dinner or meeting me for church. I guy who would feel comfortable meeting at karaoke and getting up on stage to sing could really warm my heart quickly with a smooth rendition of a song from back in the day! I'm flexible and I would hope you would be also.
