About Me
Relationship Background: I have had experience in various alternative types of relationships [avuncular, escapade, open, poly, handyman, light bondage, live-in baby-sitter, chaotic neutral catalyst, strange attractor, ad hoc sex therapist, hide the shoehorn inna corner...] as well as the more mundane kinds [5 years of marriage, numerous occasionally luminous friendships (both with and without benefits) with various smart complicated women].

Sex-positive & open-minded (tho personally het). (My most memorable encounters have almost always been with bi women tho. (I have my own theories as to why this might be the case--tell me yours?))

Pagan-friendly--and not one little bit "God-fearing".

INTERESTS: Esoterica media yoga fiction mythology taichi people-watching anime scifi smartass humor psychology oral sex & sex. (Not necessarily in that order.)

DISINTERESTS: Fashion, sports, finance, cars, regular hours, bright sunlight or why YOUR religion is MY Answer.

TURNONS: Willing flesh, a lively mind, a shining heart. I value intelligence creativity kindness empathy beauty skill independence an open mind liveliness passion & anyone who has something interesting to say on any topic. (D'oy! I should maybe want someone dull unattractive mean rigid inarticulate clingy and passionless?) Extra points to an animal lover. (And a certain shameless lack of inhibition never hurts!)

TURN-OFFS: Empathic indifference, bigotry, scorn [as opposed to witty sarcasm], willful ignorance, a curdled soul, blithe cultural chauvinism, possessive jealousy, skindeep depth, mindless rigidity, lack of self-respect & habitual manipulativeness.

In Brief:I browse personals for signs of intelligent life, fight a wee eBay addiction, indifferently attempt home repair, believe seven impossible things before breakfast (and even more before I wake up...), prefer Cherry Coke Zero When I can find it) & enjoy walking my doggies inna park. I recycle, close the lid and am a paragon of the community...

Naaah! I am just your basic retro model jeans & flannel shirt 420-loving not-entirely-ex hippie kinda guy (with some nice under-the-hood freelance evolutionary intelligence agent[slash]spiritual warrior retro-fits), who generally finds more in common with counterculture types than with the mainstream.

Mwah! ~~SAM

Trilogy [Shea & Wilson]; The Cryptonomicon [Neal Stephensen]; The Principia Discordia (or, How I Found the Goddess and What I Did with Her After [don't ask unless you *really* wanna know...]); A Wrinkle in Time [L'Engle]; The Great and Secret Show [Clive Barker]; Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said [Phillip K.****... Recently Read: Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" tetraology--Northwestern Gothic with a friendly [?] "coven" of vampires--classified as "young adult" mostly due to the age of the female protagonist/narrator. (Soon to be the next Harry Potter-esque series of movies--but with considerably more of a realistic edge (if done right).

Currently Reading: THe second volume of Neal Stephenson's absolutely astonishing 8-volume magnum opus, "The Baroque Cycle II: King of the Vagabonds"

First Date
What I would do for a first date?

You mean--like jump up and down and cluck like a chicken, say, or eat a bowl of live worms? Sign away my inheritance and go live in a Wyoming trailer park for love?

No, I wouldn't do any of that. Sorry.

But let's talk about *you* instead...

Are you still looking for Prince Charming?

For everyone who sez yes, I'm gonna organize a support group.(The first step is understanding that you have a problem...)

I hereby dub this syndrom "Fundamentalist Romanticism". Like all fundies of whatever sort--the thing they have in common is that they have forgotten how to distinguish between what is metaphor, and what is real.

I don't believe in real life fairy tales. You shouldn't either. Every individual & every relationship is unique--and shouldn't be burdened by some fantasy of perfection, projected upon it by the mesmerized 6-year-old within, who still has "her Prince" as her model for what she is looking for in life. The Ideal is a chimera, a will-o'-the-wisp, an occasionally useful abstract symbol *only*.

Thus: I happen to like intelligent creative lively kind independent openminded uninhibited beautiful women who have something interesting to say on any topic. But--I would "ideally" *require* someone to possess ALL those desirable qualities (or I would just be "settling" & end up bored with & despising the person for their lack of perfection--right?). (Meanwhile in what seems to be consensus reality, finding *half* of those qualities in one real person--who also happens to kinda like something about you as well--is like hitting a mega-ball 5-state lottery by playing your birthday!)

Because only a real imperfect human person can make your bed warm (or otherwise inviting), or do something endearingly unexpected, or kiss you *just* right...

(Or perhaps even all of those things--at the end of brunch on a rainy Sunday...)

I'm here primarily for a light diversion, and not particularly looking for a LTR; just a weekend or a season of fun can be very nice. Tho--I'm not at all adverse to becoming friendly with those I meet here, and letting things develop open-endedly as they may. In general, I'm pretty much inclined play such things by ear.

M'wah! ~~Sam
