First of all, that's not my real name. I chose the handle because I always seem to be the guy backstage who really doesn't belong there. . . and is heading straight for the drink table. I hang with musicians, artists, writers and comics. It's just the way it worked out.
I think it's ridiculous to say whether I'm looking for long term, short term or any term for that matter. In the end, it all comes down to chemistry and fate. The most important factor being that we enjoy the same simple pleasures. Until those determinations are made, it's just "hanging out".
This question is too constraining. I prefer to let the first date flow in a casual setting and let fate do its thing. The first date should be tailored to the girl and since we haven't been introduced as of yet, the question is moot.
Instead, let me tell you what I've arranged for previous, subsequent, non-first dates.
Set a low standing table, with wine and candles, in the aisle of an empty movie theater and ran a private screening for two.
Hid a mix cd in the area surrounding the Griffith Observatory and posted clues on craigslist for her to find it.
Hired a limo at the airport and had her secretly delivered to a four star hotel downtown. Left her alone in the room with every conceivable party favor, while I sat in the bar sipping a drink, and told her to text me when she couldn't stand the tease/anticipation anymore.
