About Me
I'm one of those driven but laid back, left-brained but right-brained kinda lovers of life. I believe we should enjoy our time here in this here planet, as it is a miracle this universe and we in it exist at all. And if that sentence resonates with you at all, may I humbly suggest the excellent Bill Bryson's book A Short History of Nearly Everything -- the man is brilliantly funny.
I just moved to Los Angeles from upstate NY. Am totally loving it so far -- I enjoy the contrast between my old farmhouse in the country with the huge and sprawling metropolis-that-is-kind-of-a-buncha-suburbs-strung-together, unconventional urban vibe that is LA. I miss the nature (although there's a whole new natural world to explore here as well) and the peaceful solitude of the country. But I have gained the ungainly, strange and wonderful overflow of raucous activity that is Los Angeles. It's been a good trade so far.
Besides travel and new experiences I love music -- have it playing all day long in the house (I work from home, yay!) or in the car. I'm a drummer who played in a regionally popular all-female hard rock band called the Witching when I loved in upstate NY. Now I make electronic music under the moniker Doctor Paradox and have fun experimenting with audio tools.
I don't have a lot of preconceptions about what I want you to be like or look like, but I'd love for you to be deeply interested in something or somethings, and be excited about telling me about them. I'd love for you to have passions in your life you want to share. I'd love to spend time both together and apart, as we both live independent lives and yet intertwine as much as we desire. First Date
I'm honestly open to many types of experiences -- whatever fits, but it would be cool to have some sort of dinner involved and maybe some live music. I love good food from around the world so show me your favorite sushi place, or I can show you my favorite Cuban restaurant. My musical taste is all over the map, so take me to your favorite band or I'll suggest one of mine.
