About Me
Well, let's see..here do I begin? First of all, this online dating business is new to me,I'm from the old school where women were courted, not emailed..haha
I'm a retired nurse and mother of 3 children,3 grand children,4`great-grandchildren,oh and I`musn't forget my grand-puppies" So if we should end up meeting ,please know that you will no doubt meet
the grand-puppies too...lol
I'm 5'2,eyes of blue & petite,so try to keep myself at a decent weight, take pride in my appearance and I appreciate the same trait in men. Thats not to say I expect a business suit on,but at least to be clean, neat and wearing clothes appropriate for the occasion at hand. I enjoy a gentlemens company and they are rare these days. I look around me and there are very few examples left...no opening doors, lighting cigaretts, carrying bags or even paying for a cup of coffee. Instead I see signs directing us to use the handicap access door if we cant open the regular entrance door, carts or bag dollies, womens zippos and even see couples going "dutch". I personally, dropped a bag of groceries going to the car last year...2 young men were right across from me and not one offer did they make...sad,very sad. I didnt mean to over analyze here, but thought I should make my opinions of such behavior very clear.
No sense sugar coating the character I find attractive, and that which I do not, right? By the same token,I feel men shouldnt be made to cook the potroast for sunday dinner(unless they ENJOY cooking) do the laundry or scour the tub. As I said.."old school" To address another "touchy" subject: At this age in a persons life,it is inevitable that we will have at least some sort of medical condition(s) or concerns going on...honesty is and always will be the best policy,so if you need to take medication, monitor blood pressure, sugar or anythig else, and have certain limitations..THAT'S OKAY! I,myself am diabetic..I check my glucose and take insulin when needed..this is NOT a fault, just a part of life,so take it with a grain of salt:)
With all this addressed,I can get to what this area on my profile was really for:
I enjoy golf..not as active in it as I once was,but still enjoy it now and then..I like dining out with a good menu selction (adore seafood)...love dancing..and yes,I enjoy big band and age appropriate music as opposed to todays hip-hop & hard rock...Sinatra & Dean will always beat out Led Zepplin.Thats not to say I dont like some of todays music,my kids play some likable tunes now and then.
I'm more a spring and fall person..dont like it too hot or freezing, but do however, find snow beautiful.
A nice stroll or picnic by the lake is always enjoyable. I enjoy an eclectic group of activities..intelligent conversation, witty humor,Animal rescue, bingo, the beach, crafts, the mall, volunteering, long drives, concert shows...love watching ice skating and have always wanted to see a live show. Board games are fun with a group or even 2 ppl playing scrabble on a rainy day. Thanks to my daughter,Ive come to enjoy fridays..pizza night and a movie and also the internet. I'm new at it,but Ive seen such remarkable things on here. It can be a good or bad influence depending on the individual in control of the keyboard I guess. I'm not the greatest typer,I respond to your email as needed, but if we hit it off,I would hope that a phone conversation follows shortly there after.
I would like to emphasize AGAIN that I AM a smoker,so if that trait bothers you,it would be a better decision not to contact me. Ive smoked for many years and yes,I enjoy my after dinner cigarette..and NO,I won't stop for you.If you smoked a pipe or cigar,I wouldn't ask you to stop for me.
So,if after reading this, you would like to have such a friend..companian...or if it works out..more?
Drop me a line and I'll gladly write you back.
I do have a photo (which isnt my favorite) onine, but will be getting another soon. If you want to see mine,I must see yours..only fair, right?

Conversation Starters (i.e. what you'd like to do on a first date...)
It would depend on our mutual interests. Someplace where a conversation could take place. Maybe lunch/dinner or coffee. Perhaps at a park and take a stroll. We could decide after a few conversations.
