About Me
Hey, I'm Bryan. Here's the rundown:
HOBBIES:
I like to go out, especially when live music is involved. I like to cook. I LOVE to travel. I like to enjoy the history and natural resources of NM & America. I like to chill. I like to argue. Not in a "I'm right, You're wrong" kind of way, just like to observe other viewpoints than my own. I like to hike & run. I like sitting by the Rio Grande (well, it's kind of mosquitoville right now, but in other seasons). I like working with animation software & writing out comedic & political material.
I love to sing and rap, a master in the art of karaoke, and have some music equipment I bang around occasionally, though I have no talent. I'm a video game addict who loves madden football and a good RPG . . . can't stand halo or rock band which sucks since those are the games most the ladies like. Love NFL football & NBA basketball.
I love movies and television series (NOT reality shows, I HATE reality shows). Dramas and comedies mostly.
GOALS/ASPIRATIONS:
If I had my dream life I would:
Help someone.
Help many someones.
Have a woman by my side who believed in me and evened out my many rough spots and got freaky frequently.
Own a Spanish Villa, a mountain home that was underground like a hobbit (anywhere?), an apartment in New England, an apartment in Toronto, a farm by the rio grande in NM and a small home in rural Mexico.
Travel South America from bottom to top ala Che Guevara.
Backpack the Appalachian Mountains.
Explore Europe.
Spend at least 2 years in Sub Saharan Africa.
Get my scuba diving license.
Get my sky diving instructors license.
Have a greenhouse and garden where I could grow food and flowers for my household.
Have a cow and make my own cheese.
Have a donkey and a rooster.
Have a tricked out golf cart, taco truck and ice cream truck.
Have the opportunity to pass on what I've learned to a younger generation.
Eh, you get the point, I'm a dreamer.
WHY I'M UNIQUE:
I'm really a varied and self-crafted individual. I grew up mostly in the country, but spent a lot of time in big cities too. I'm lily white, but have always preferred the company of minorities. I care very deeply about the plight of other people. I love nature, love wild animals and plants. I joined the Army when I was 17 and I've been a rolling stone ever since . . .
I've exposed myself to a lot of types of knowledge, and I'm not an expert on anything but I know a little about a lot. Amongst other things, I've spent a lot of time studying horticulture, sociology, women's studies, computer science, english lit, electronics, anthropology and history. Right now my big interest is learning about renewable energy.
I'm intelligent, I take in new information very quickly but I've taken a lot of hard blows to the head so I have no memory to retain what I learn. If there is something I am weak in or ignorant of I try to expose myself to it. I don't have a college degree, but I can't think of many people I've met with degrees who I considered more intelligent than myself. Unfortunately, I am just a cripple when it comes to personal finances, so, as bright and accomplished as I am I'm still broke as hell . . . which I wouldn't really care about except for that is all people really care about in society. I've got two companies I started, but both are still in their infant stages. And that's what makes me unique.
MUSIC:
I'm a music junkie, I try to expose myself to everything that comes out. I usually am happy with some old laid back R & B (marvin gaye), or some newer neo-soul (Erykah Badu). I like alternative music as long as the person doesn't have a whiny voice. I like rock music . . . as long as its not too peppy or a bunch of screaming. I prefer rock with a good melody, i.e., U2. Don't get me wrong, I love a good yell, but making yourself sound like a banshee is just lame to me. I usually can't stomach Christian or Satanic based rock- an artist should be able to mold a career on their own experiences. Listen to a lot of world music & reggae.
I love really good rap (Lupe Fiasco) but can't stand most of it. I don't mind listening to country in the bar, but in my own home there aren't any new artists I like, though I do listen to a lot of older country. Seems like the highest concentration of talent is in electronic music these days, probably because it is a music without borders, so I listen to it more than anything else . . . which is funny because what I admire most about music is good lyrics.
First Date
Ideally? One of us cooks the other dinner, we go for a walk under the stars, come back and slow dance to some John Legend and then shag like river otters with flowers, candles and music all around. Don't spaz, I see that y'all won't even talk to a guy who searched for an intimate encounter, I'm a gentleman . . . but I am a MAN and I'd give the same answer for my ideal 113th date!
Realistically? Any first date that leads to a second date. Best that it doesn't include alcohol or a movie so you can just spend some time slowly getting comfortable with each other. Maybe a coffee followed by a stroll around a park, lake, or river.
