About Me
Ya know, I've been kind of agonizing over what to rewrite this as. I've decided I'm not going to agonize, I'm just gonna do it.
I have a very strange, very wry and sarcastic sense of humour. I like to think of myself as a fairly deep individual, however in the end I often come out looking a bit like an idiot, I suspect. I am EXCEPTIONALLY easygoing. I prefer small gatherings over large ones. I have a few extremely close friends as opposed to many not so close friends. I'm a romantic, yet a bit of a realist too. I am very liberal, yet I have a lot of conservative values.
I love reading (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Elegant Universe, Freakonomics, Death by Black Hole, A Brief History of Everything, and some liberal propaganda, like the stuff seen on The Daily Show, for example), watching movies (I mostly like comedies; The 40 Year Old Virgin, Office Space, Borat, Spanglish, The Producers, Little Miss Sunshine, even Rocky Horror Picture Show and the like, but I also like Donnie Darko, Schindler's List, and many others), going on romantic walks, (I don't so much like the non-romantic walks, seeing as I pretty much walk for a living), listening to music (I like many kinds, including jazz, classical, country, trance, etc. Right now I'm on a bit of a mellow 'James Blunt' type kick), playing pool, and going to a nice/unique restaurant or lounge for dinner and/or a few drinks. I admit to liking romantic comedy movies, especially if I'm with the right woman. Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" is by far the funniest man alive in my opinion. If you truly understand, laugh at and truly "get" his humour, then we will get along just nicely, almost guaranteed. I really want to go skydiving. I AM the grammar police, and it is a conscious effort not to constantly correct people. I have my teaching degree in piano, (although I'm at that "if you don't use it, you lose it" stage..). I like fishing in the summer, fireplaces in the winter, Thinking about the nature of the universe, watching old game shows (specifically Match Game), going on road trips, hanging out with friends, and many, many other things.
If you think that you can relate to any or a few of these characteristics, we very well may get along just fine. I think that if someone reads a nice, concise profile and feels as though they can connect with that person already, even if just a bit, that's pretty cool, because these types of things are very difficult to propery articulate.
