About Me
I'm an easy going, quirky, friendly, kind, mature, but "immature" kind of guy.
I've just finished my master's degree in music performance. The arts have always been my first love. There's something about being on stage that nothing else can top.
I moved to Toronto recently to be closer to the city's bustling operatic scene (Yes, bustling). I also wanted to explore the big city that everyone seems to love so much. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the sizable veg*n/sustainable living community.
I have great ambitions for my career, but I'm also at a point in my life where I want to find someone truly special. It can be hard to meet someone outside of the dangerously small world of operatic singing, and so I've headed online to see who else is out there. Although my "intent" is marked as "I am putting blah blah blah", I am, above all, looking to just meet cool new people in Toronto.
I've got a great, if somewhat dry, sense of humour. I'm able to see the lighter side of even the worst situations. On the other hand, I also enjoy turning to acerbic wit to see the darker side of the best situations just for shits 'n' giggles. I'm known for being unpredictable and a little strange. I used to damn myself for this bizarre quality, but have since realized that it has its own unmistakable charm.
I love [[language]]; words, grammar, punctuation - as nerdy as it sounds, I find it all fascinating. Because of this, I've taken a number of language courses along the way, and I speak French, German and Italian, in decreasing fluency. If you can spell/punctuate/use a semi-colon, we're sure to get along just fine; if you can't, I'll get a kick out of it and turn the other cheek. ;)
I love coffee; it's the nectar of the gods. Finding bargains at thrift stores/garage sales/swap meets is a cherished pastime of mine. Maybe it has something to do with growing up in Winnipeg, the thriftiest city in Canada.
I've never been one for the bar scene, which I guess is how I've arrived here. Don't get me wrong, I love being social, just not with hundreds of drunken people I don't know. I enjoy the company of a few close friends far more.
I'm looking to meet someone honest, sincere, affectionate, passionate, and with a good sense of humour.
What do I like? Let's see...
Books: Prayer for Owen Meany, The World According to Garp, Life of Pi, Fifth Business, The Time Traveler's Wife
TV Shows: Arrested Development, Black Books, Dexter, Futurama, House, How I Met Your Mother, Invader Zim, The Office, The IT Crowd
Movies: Amélie, American Beauty, About a Boy, The Big Lebowski, Garden State, Hot Fuzz, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Shaun of the Dead, The Shawshank Redemption, Spaceballs
Music: Arcade Fire, The Beta Band, Brian Borcherdt, Fiona Apple, The Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear, Islands, Malajube, Of Montreal, Owen Pallett, Radiohead, Ron Sexsmith, Regina Spektor, The Unicorns, Wilco and Wintersleep - to name a few.
Food: curry, coconut, maple, mango, banana. Pretty much anything, as long as it's vegan.
Feel free to send me a message if: you're looking for a guy who can cook, you want to go "garage sailing", you have a puppy. :)

First Date
Cure cancer. Go skydiving. High five spree. Or we could just do coffee. Whatever.
