About Me
A friend has put this profile on for me because I don't have a computer; anyone getting in touch will be communicating with her initially. My friend won't put anyone as a favourite because she can't choose for me. However, if you put me as a favourite, she'll know you might be interested.
Hello,
I'd be interested in making new friends and hopefully finding a companion who shares some interests in common. He would be a kind, compassionate man with a gentle nature like me. I would like to take things very slowly at first and get to know the real person. It would be lovely if he had an interest in puzzles though it's not essential. I'm not likely to give up crosswords though so he'd have to be happy with that. I'm an inveterate crossword addict and have always had an interest in anything like that with a bit of a challenge. (My friend would like to note that I can polish off an Aurocaria cryptic crossword in half an hour and she is truly impressed!)
If you were in the RAF at any point, then we'd have something in common. I was in the signals in the 1950s. I loved being in the RAF and met many wonderful people there. It was an exciting time for me. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to march in the Rememberance Service in the Royal Albert Hall at that time which I'll always remember with pride. I'd be particularly interested to hear from anyone who was in the RAF and especially those based in Ruislip, Haydock, Compton Bassett or Northern Ireland.
Apart from crosswords, I am also interested in cooking and gardening. I like listening to some music too and enjoy writing. I am currently working on stories and intend to try a novel. I do have family close by and spend some time with them. It would be lovely to get out and about with a friend though and share some special times.
It's hard to describe myself but I think I can say that I am patient, kind, intelligent and have led an interesting and sometimes difficult life. I have lived in many parts of the country and done a variety of jobs, working as a manager, instructor and signals operator in the RAF, voluntary DJ in RAF at Compton Bassett, office worker, cook, football pools clerk at Birkenhead (where I was in the choir), farm worker, highly-skilled jacquard weaver, amongst other things - all fascinating experiences.
I think that gives you an idea of me for the moment. If you think we might have something in common, then do get in touch. My friend will communicate initially and then put us in touch.
Because I live in the countryside and do not have a car myself, any new friend would need transport. I do have some health problems, but then nobody's perfect.
