About Me
I'm currently in Lawrence taking my last class I need for graduation and playing bass guitar in a traveling thrash metal band. I'm having a great time. However, my lifestyle is not a desultory haze of binge drinking and sleeping with groupies. That sort of thing usually doesn't happen in the underground heavy metal scene... except for the binge drinking part. It's not Motley Crue, just a bunch of nerds who are way into what they do. Hey, everybodys got a hobby. I really like seeking out new places, music, and experiences. I'm thinking about traveling to Seoul, South Korea in order to teach English after I graduate. I was there last summer and had a blast. The band has also taken me across the country from Los Angeles to New York. In terms of my future career, it's too bad a chose political science because it turns out that I hate politics (I wanna be anarchy!). With the way the economy is headed I'm thinking about becoming a Walgreens store manager. And if I'm not independently wealthy by age 40 then I'm renouncing the world and becoming a tantric hermit. I guess I'm on here because a friend of mine has had some good experiences meeting people. That's just what I need because my two roommates have been really lame lately and several of my friends have now graduated. Just looking for new people to hang out with this summer, we'll see what happens from there.
Books- I would hate a career in politics, but don't mind reading it. So I read a lot of bland current affairs stuff, history, and studies complete with bullsh*tpolitical neologisms. I also like reading about world philosophy and religion.
Ex: The Life of Milarepa, Bash the Rich, Slaughterhouse-Five, Moonchild, Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader, H.P. Lovecraft stories, folk tales
Movies- I don't really have a particular genre, if its good its good. I watch a lot of foreign films.
Ex: A Bittersweet Life, Romper Stompers, 1980 Hong Kong bullet ballets, No Country for Old Men, A Tale of Two Sisters, Brazil, Blade Runner, Mulholland Dr.
Music- black/grind/crust/doom/shred/thrash/power/prog/death/punk- head banging music
My favorite is seeing it live though. House shows are the best.
Ex: Nocturnal Breed, Death, Megadeth, Opeth, Angra, Exodus, Darkthrone, Mercyful Fate, Dystopia, Judas Priest, Kreator, Morbid Angel, Iron Maiden, Sodom, Candlemass, etc.
Food- all kinds of food, I'm not at all picky. I've been trying Boca products lately.
Ex: Cheese curds, Gaegogi, Rubin Sandwiches, anything with Sauerkraut really, sushi, cheap microwavable pizzas that taste like cardboard... come to think of it I've never tried Haggis, but I would probably like it.

Probably go out for some Korean BBQ or Haggis and then to a concert. Kinda boring, got any better ideas?
