Just started a new job.. same old field.. customer service.. pays the bills so that's a plus ;)
As for me the person, I'm 35 years old.. I am working to lose weight, I'd like to get back to where I was in high school (my primary pic is my "goal pic" secondary pic is more of a "now" pic. Losing the job actually has somewhat been a blessing as I've been able to spend more time outside in the yard and I've managed to shed about 60 lbs. Still have a ways to go, but getting there. Still in 18s, but hoping to be down into an even smaller size within a few months. I put on weight little by little over the years, not something I am proud of but I have always been an "emotional" eater. I have been trying to eat better now and not use food as a "therapy" when I am having a bad day. It seems to be working some and not being chained into a cubicle for 10 hours a day helps immensely with the activity level even though it's now making my finances a mess.
As far as interests go...
Sports: Any Boston teams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, and Florida Gators. NASCAR- Tony Stewart.. my mom recently got me hooked on pro bowling (don't laugh!) and my faves there are Chris Barnes and Sean Rash. Baseball: Red Sox, Braves, Cubs yes I am a native Tampan, no I don't like the Rays.
Movies: I love everything from Disney animations, to musicals, to comedies, martial arts flicks.. some faves in no particular order are The Sound of Music, Clerks (actually anything from Kevin Smith) Enter the Dragon, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Ni!) My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, Talladaga Nights.. just depends on my mood..
TV: I'm on a crime shows kick right now... Forensic Files, Bones, Criminal Minds, NCIS, etc.. also Mythbusters, Jeopardy!, Big Bang Theory, The Doctors and many others
Music: Mostly country-- love George Strait, Kenny Chesney, etc.. Reba McEntire but I am not limited-- I also listen to a lot of Showtunes (Wicked, Avenue Q, Rent, the previously mentioned movie musicals...etc) and I even listen to some alternative type things (Offspring) and oldies.. just again depends on my mood.
Quirky facts about me that don't fit into any of my "likes" categories would be: I'm a bit of a geek and belong to the International High IQ Society. I also hold a black belt in tae kwon do, but I am very out of shape on that and haven't practiced in many years. If I ever find a job and get back on my feet again and my schedule permits I'd like to start up again. When I was working before, my job ran late and I couldn't make the hours for most of the schools adult classes. Now I have all sorts of time, but can't afford the classes. Isn't that the way it always goes? ROFL I am a "redneck" girl but not to the point that I am constantly listening to country or doing dip or anything goofy like that. I do like country primarily, but listen to a wide variety of music. I also do like cultural things, so please don't fixate on the "Redneck" label. I'd be just as apt to show up for a production at the performing arts center as I would at the Dallas Bull. I do drive a truck, and wear jeans most of the time but I don't hunt/fish/etc 24/7 either. So like I said, don't fixate on that label because there's definitely more to me than being a redneck girl. :)
Also, as you see-- I give a lot of info in my profile to give you an idea if we have compatible interests. If your profile is shall we say... lacking or uninformative it's highly probable that you might not get a response from me because I may overlook you if I don't see any similar interests. Generally-- if you send me just a "one-liner" email it's not likely to grab my attention. If you're interested.. obviously you saw something in my profile that grabbed your interest-- so perhaps a good ice breaker would be... "I see you like... (insert hobby/movie/musical artist/etc here) and I like them a lot too.. " I generally don't reply to things like "You're cute" unless you have a little more to say than that. Hope that didn't come off snooty or anything but I think if someone is genuniely interested they would have more to say or could at least say why my profile caught their interest. Other than that, I did want to add I am not interested in kids at all-- again not to be snooty but I did the step-mom thing and it just wasn't my cuppa tea-- I don't ever want any of my own-- so if you're thinking you want some one day you might want to pass my profile by unless you'd just like to be friends. That is cool too-- the system here doesn't really give you the opportunity to put multiple "what I am looking fors" but I am open to friends/email/activity partner/dating.. I have IMs off for the most part but if you catch my interest I can fix that :) I go afk a lot so I usually keep'em off.
Depends, I suppose. Coffee is always nice, or brunch. Broadway shows are nice, but I know most guys aren't into them it seems they are too girly ;) I tend to prefer jeans/tshirt atmospheres since I've always pretty much been a tomboy/redneck girl..
Also, a lot of guys I understand don't like being "faved" before contact but sometimes I am browsing folks, and don't have time to write right away (I am back and forth afk quite a bit) so if I find something interesting in your profile I sometimes fave to come back later and re-read or possibly I think one of my friends might find you interesting and want to have them look you up sometime... so by all means if you want to delete me that's fine but just know there was a good reason for it I don't just randomly add people. Also my IMs are set to faves only (because if I start getting 2-3 people at the same time sometimes it causes my computer to crash. Heck.. sometimes just 1 makes my computer crash so if I don't respond to an IM try again in a few minutes and see if I am back online)
